Reduced overall consumable drop rate in Elite Mode (especially from treasure boxes)

So for a while now I've been a bit bugged at how often I come across some treasure boxes only to get a bunch of poison vials and excess remedy capsules that I'll never use. It was a thing long before the battle sprite update, but back then it was fine considering I could get just as much of the heat and crowns that I needed from killing monsters. Nowadays, however, the bulk of our progression in gear comes from rarities dropped exclusively from treasure boxes, which makes it rather annoying when I get stuff like this: http://imgur.com/wOAyPcN

That's 12/15 treasure boxes from the last round of an arena, on elite mode, depth 25, dropping completely useless consumables for me. The two pills would be great, except I already got my fill of pills from the gigantic wave of monsters I had to kill to get there.

Now, I know that one of the first fears of a reduction in consumables would be that it would make the game significantly harder. Which is why I specify elite mode. I don't think anyone would really complain about elite mode being harder in exchange for a higher drop rate of rarities, in fact I'd be very much for it. Monsters still drop plenty of health capsules, remedies, curse vials, shock barriers, and other stuff knights never actually use, and a little bit of added challenge from having a few less would be welcomed by a large amount of the fanbase. It would even help solve the issue of radiant fire crystals being nigh-impossible to acquire, although only by a little bit.

I agree that treasure boxes drop consumables way too often. The particular case you presented was merely your bad luck, but things like that do happen quite often. And i honestly don't think that decreasing the drop rate would make the game that much harder, considering that most people don't even use consumable items besides pills and remedies.

I tend to burn through consumables (especially Pills and Barriers) at a faster rate on Elite mode, and I still am left over with heaps.

I would suggest to reduce the consumable drop rate for vials and the recon/mecha knight items but not for remedy and hp pills.

Make it over all consumables only drop when you have open item slots and in the case of it being one thing, only that item.

I would suggest drastically reducing the following:

-Vials. Bleh. Who even uses them that often except to hit a switch?
-Health Capsules. Seriously. I found 7 on FSC and I still had full health.
-Remedy Capsules. I found 4 on FSC.

Now, I'm not so sure about nerfing the drop rate for Recon Flares and Artillery Strikes. Either I'm unlucky (Maybe I shouldn't have blown up Joe's Fabulous Mirror House that one time), or they already have a minuscule drop rate.

<insert witty comment here>

Yeah, consumables are far too common. Besides Caps and Remedies, they're barely useful as it is.

Wait what? That is for the only the few elitists here! I am still seeing noobs dying in FSC elite given the frequent drops. I am so sick and tired of my lag as well, often get cornered by a trolljan and loose a crap tonne of health and I was forced to search all over FSC to find more. So please, think about the less skilled and the less fortuned before you make a suggeston like this. (however, I would like to not see treasure boxes give out vials, it is stupid.)

I like it!

Having consumables drop as frequently as they do can be downright frustrating. On elite difficulty, the game should be harder anyways, so tweaking the drop rate will both increase profits and difficulty.

Midnight-Dj: Hence why I suggest it for elite mode. Elite mode is supposed to be very challenging in exchange for more loot. For people who have trouble with elite mode, there's the lovely advanced mode, which is just as hard as the game used to be with just as much payout.

Hate Consumeables

Real thing below.

Played Arcade all the way to Depth 29 from Depth 1,returned to haven with 250 Crowns.75 from the boss I fighted,175 from the depth end wheel.

If I remember right,I found almost over 200 Health Pills and Remedies,100-125 Vials,5 Ranger Signal Flares,1 Artillery Strike and another 100-125 Barriers.

Drop rate is bad?Nope.
Drop rate is good,then?Nope.
Drop rate is very bad?Yes.

I pray to those noobs who may suffer due to this update. They are already getting their butts kicked in the current pill drop rate, from my experience in RJP, the difficulty difference means a 500 cr pay off difference, it might not sound like alot, but it will stack up in the long run. SK is already a grinddy game, why make it harder for the lessed skilled and less fortuned?

As for the treasure boxes with consumables in it, yes, I do agree, they should drop far more Crs than they did, but then again, this is SEGA's game so I don't think that will ever happen, in fact, complaining about this isn't a good idea.

SEGA SK manager: "Hey Nick, some dude on ur forum is complianing about the drop rate!"
Nick: "They think it is too low?"
SEGA SK manager: "NOPE, they think it is too high! Now lower it!"
Nick: "But I think this is bad for the fan base, I mean, the sharpocalypse and the binding thing have already lost us all the Beta vets and what not!"
SEAG SK manager: "STHP JUST DO IT! WE WUNT MORE MONEHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Noobs don't play on elite mode last time I checked. This suggestion is pointed at elite mode.
Additionally, if they die repeatedly in FSC... their problem... they need to go back to JK grinding or something.

And frankly, yes, the droprates are too high (from boxes, enemies are alright). I don't like opening 20 boxes and getting heaps of terrible vials or remedies/pills I already have 3 of.

If a noob plays on elite, then that's their problem. They need to learn to only play what they are capable off, and making the rest of us pay by not adding an update that would increase the difficulty of elite would be unfair to most of the other players.

Have to agree with this greatly. I'm tired of getting more consumables than loot from boxes. Heck, I'd be totally cool with boxes never dropping consumables.
