I just soloed the Royal Jelly Palace. Before that, I tried soloing it for about five minutes before deciding it was taking too long, then tried it in a public party. Everyone died. I died several times. We didn't even finish it.
Then, as I mentioned, I tried to solo it again. I didn't play any differently than I had with the party, but I got through the entire thing using two sparks of life. (Although much credit for the defeat of the royal jelly goes to Wubbles the Maskeraith, without whom it would have out-healed my Shadowtech Alchemer.)
I found this rather strange and perplexing, so I decided to try running it with a random party again. This time I paid attention to what was going on and I noticed that we were all inadvertently killing each other.
So I'm having difficulty deciding whether to grind the Royal Jelly Palace with random parties and hope not to die too much, or to solo it, subjecting myself to as little risk as possible and taking about two hours per run. The former causes too many unpleasant homicidal feelings, and the latter requires more time than I possess. Neither is particularly efficient. So I decided to post on here, and see if there was anyone interested in running it with me, and possibly teaching me more about party tactics.
In case it's relevant, I'm a gunner with a Shadowtech Alchemer MKII, a Prismatech Alchemer MKI, a Needle Shot, a Defender, a Cobalt Helmet, and a sparkling new Gunslinger's Sash with a history of pain and boredom. My in-game name is Taniquel. Thank you, at the least, for the time you spent reading this. Have a nice day.
Parties are difficult
Yes, your team can certainly kill you, by blowing up explosive blocks next to you, knocking monsters into you, etc. Also, monsters have about twice as much health against a party of four, as they do against a party of one.
I agree that you should find a guild. (Um, and replace that Defender with a Swiftstrike Buckler.) You could also ask obvious veterans in Haven, if they'd like to do an RJP run. The problem is that they might think that you're one of the incompetent ones. That's why a guild works better. The experienced people in your guild should be willing to do at least one RJP run with you. Then, when they see that you're competent, they might be willing to do lots more RJP, and do some IMF, and take you to Firestorm Citadel, etc.
I hope that you get some volunteers to help you out. (Sorry, not me.) Anyway, enjoy.
Party tactics for a gunner? Stay back from the Lumbers and jellies and just use Alchemer charge attacks while your initial incursion shock troops soak up all the damage from the mob of squiggly stupid slimes.
Also, it might be helpful if you recorded the video of you doing the RJP, so us humble forumers -
BWAHAAHAH!
Anyways. Us quasi-humble forumers can see the flaws in your fighting strategy.
I have quite a few things going on right now. My first guild, experiment with the Fearless Rigadoon stun, trying to multi task with some recent friends who think elite is the only possible option, yeah...
Send a friend request in game to Bamzalot, me. Once I find some time to squeeze in (got Thanksgiving vacation coming up soon so shouldn't be too long), I can give you a hand. Plus, it can give me a few benefits as well. I can bring in some of those newer friends to clear them through ranks faster, I can get some extra cash for my guild, and I can experiment the stunningness of a Fearless Rigadoon against slimes!
I'll help out as soon as possible. Until then, good luck!
Mission get harder with more person in your team. These are from Normal difficulty,no Advanced,no Elite.
Solo : Enemy does normal amount of damage, has normal amount of health.
2 Person Party : Enemy does doubled damage, has double health.
3 Person Party : Enemy does triple damage, has triple health.
Full Party : Enemy does quad damage, has quad health and resistances are increased.
Was worse before the energy update came.Say,you are playing FSC in a full party.Passed the first floor. Then, they left you.Guess what, you are going to fight against enemies that have quadrupled health and damage, all alone.
Since the update,it chooses the right stats for the enemy when the party changes.
Enemies do increase in health, as party size increases. But it is not anywhere near the 4x quoted in post #5. It's more like:
* 2 knights: 33% more health as against 1 knight
* 3 knights: 66% more health as against 1 knight
* 4 knights: 100% more (twice as much) health as against 1 knight
I mention this in post #2 above.
I am not aware of monster damage increasing with party size. If it does increase, it is certainly not anywhere near the 4x quoted in post #5.
Then how the F*** I was getting killed by Minis at JK first area, with a set of armor that gives Piercing and Normal,in one hit, with almost 30 health?!!
That's a good question. How many hits did they land on you, to bring you down? Which armor are we talking about? Was the difficulty Elite? Was it a party of four? I'd like to know.
#1 : 1.Just 1.
#2 : Rock Slime set.Slime sets give Piercing and Normal.
#3 : There wasn't ANY difficulties back then.
#4 : Party of four.
I just did a solo test in 2-star Cobalt armor. The mini jellies did about 1.4 bars of damage per hit on Advanced, and the same amount on Elite, which is a little odd. Even if they do 4 times as much damage against a full party, we're nowhere near 30 damage.
How did you get up to 30 bars of health? I'd estimate your health at 15 bars, in that armor.
Was this on a mission, or in an Arcade gate? If it's the latter, are you sure that you started the level with full health? Maybe you were heavily wounded?
If none of these considerations apply, and you're sure that you're remembering correctly, then I'd say that you experienced a bug, because that amount of damage doesn't make any sense. In running RJP hundreds of times, I've never seen anything like it.
No, enemies don't do quadruple damage with more people. I don't think they even have a damage buff. If they did, FSC enemies would 1 hit everyone.
Send me a message in game, IGN is Perronius, i'll run a few with you. It just takes decent party members, and RJP is tough with 2* gear.
@epicskunk
Enemies don't do any more damage with more party members, but as Bopp mentionned, do gain a bit of health. I've tested this, damage is the same (using full chaos, so no pierce defense).
All I can say is indeed. Having a decent party is kinda rare. You may have more chance to meet with good players at elite difficulty, though it may backfire. Having a guild may help you more, so you can ask advice here and there. Once you get a good setup though, it doesn't really matter you do royal jelly solo or party, they end up around the same time.
