I've been doing tons of research, and have completely compiled the list of materials needed for the items in the game.

So far, only Sword has been done. The only thing not on my current lists is that of Crowns, which will be done at a later date.
To do:
Gun (Finished, needs to be compiled)
Bomb (Finished, needs to be compiled)
Helmet (Finished, needs to be compiled)
Armor (Finished, needs to be compiled)
Shield (Finished, needs to be compiled)
Trinket (Finished, needs to be compiled)
Crown Costs

All data taken from the wiki. Notify me if any of my findings are incorrect, or if something is out of order.

spreadsheet?

I like to see people compiling such information. Good work. And now for the bad news...

The information would be more useful in a spreadsheet. You could make one row per item (Leviathan Blade, Chaos Cowl, Elite Boom Module, etc.), and one column per resource (crowns, Sharp Fangs, Radiant Fire Crystals, etc.). From such a spreadsheet, you could easily compute the totals that you're already posting. The advantage of the spreadsheet would be that the reader could see better how those totals arise, which items require which materials, etc.

I thought about making a spreadsheet, but I found for the time being, a Document works. I have plans to convert it to spreadsheet format, though. Expect it in the near future.

That spreadsheet's got to be extremely wide to put up all the mats responsible for crafting...
I'd try to cut a corner or two by looking at all the mat similarities and try to condense it a bit on that route, for example how all alchemers branch off from the original recipe requires similar numbers of mats, just alternate coloration on them.

Streamlined navigation, the key to lazy people seeing numbers.

But! Do you really need to get every. Single. Item to understand and grasp the idea of Spiral Knights?

Or can I just skip getting graviton vortex because obsidian crusher is the same thing? I mean, Nick and his 24 guns beg to differ, but I think that I'm fine with just my kat eye cowl. No need to break my back heating a dread skelly hat.
