I will admit that my playtime has greatly decreased with the new patch coming out. I am still a fan of the game but now i've noticed a huge setback that is getting more and more annoying. FIX THE KNOCKBACK YOU JERKS!!!!!!!! I currently am using a lvl. 10 ascended calibur trying to save up for my leviathan blade. i have noticed that the knockback on the second attack in sequence with this weapon knocks the enemy out of range of my sword, making a three strike combo about 50% effective and mostly useless. has anyone else noticed this or had problems with another weapon. im going to keep playing this game but if you are going to empty my wallet 000 at least give me a three strike combo that is actually useful. THANKS!!!
Three strike combo broken???
are you saying they are coming out with a new bomb type.......A bowling BOMB!!!!! just joshin this knockback thing really pushes my buttons.
Get something with less knockback - like a Cold Iron Carver
EDIT: Also great for carving Turkeys!
A bowling bomb would be fun, but it would probably end up being the only one I used for range reasons.
EDIT: Also before switching to a brandish I used an Ascended Calibur and didn't have much of a probably getting all three hits to land, but my strategy is to normally knock the enemy against a wall unless I really need them away from me.
I've noticed this as well with my leviathan blade, but I just usually do what Ginzaki does and corner them
than I just wail on the poor sucker until they go poof
another reason why i just use my leviathan as my last ditch effort to not get cornered with it's charge attack ;]
I've noticed my flourish doesn't always hit three times, either. So yeah, I end up cornering as well. Seems to be the most common fix. :P
@milkman797
The Cold Iron series (both carver and vanuisher) have the same effect, knocking back enemies too far to hit on the third swing. The bright side is that the two hit combo will knock a mechanknight back far enough so that he cannot hit you either, just hit-hit-shield!
I mostly use the third swing for weak crowds (never robots!) cornered enemies, and gunpuppies.
I have not noticed this problem with my Ascended Calibure, maybe your timing is being thrown off a little recently. Bad timing can give you this problem.
but lets say 3rd strike always hits. also, in T3 most mobs are fast enough to cast an attack by the 3rd hit, and you know 3rd strike interrupts most enemies' attack. wouldn't that make the game too easy?
This occurs when the monster's distance isn't just right for all the attacks to connect.
I've had no problems with the Flourish-series weapons, or ''three-strike'' weapons, it just takes getting used to the distance you need.
after playing today i did pay attention to the initial distance from the enemy when starting to attack. if you are standing right up on some hood rat you can usually get all three hits to land but if you are barely close enough for the first strike to land then its a guaranteed fail for three strike combo.
in all seriousness lets grief for a bowling bomb now and call it the kingsberry.
@RXrenesis8
I know they both have the same charge attack. However the knockback is notably less for the Cold Iron Series (for example lumbars hit with a CIC charge will move back a small distance, whereas an AC charge will knock them all the way across the screen). As such, I myself don't have problems landing all three hits unless I am not actually facing the monster.
EDIT: Same thing also applies to the normal attacks (just realised that was what you were talking about).
I kinda like how it works now. When you're in a mob you can't wait until the 3rd strike until you can push some baddies out of the way. So instead of being strike, strike, knockback I prefer strike, knockback, shield.
if you are going to empty my wallet 000 at least give me a three strike combo
Three Strike Combos are called a Turkey.
