am I the only one that feels like that most recent updates are very redundant and repetitive?

They mostly consists of reskins of weapons and armors, prize boxes, and new accessories for the most part. I wonder if I'm the only one that feels this way.

Oh my.

Yep. Totally. Not because they're going to add 20+ new guns soon so they have their hands tied on what to make. Nope. OOO is just lazy.

For crying out loud!

OOO is not responsible for this pile of junk. SEGA is, because it wants to profit. Notice how the Aura is 8800 CE? And how CE prices have skyrocketed? SEGA is trying to get peeps to buy Energy so that they profit from the contract. NOT OOO, SEGA.

That's all to say.

Welcome back Ink... (And goodbye, maybe)

Yeah... Next "cool" update is next year, I presume.

I agree, though. We need short-term updates with expanding Spiral Knights' creativity and adventure.

"The gunner update is full of reskins and damage changes".

I've wondered myself how much influence SEGA has had in recent changes, particularly with the UI. But Sandwich-Potato, what proof do you have other than blatant accusations?

I spend 2/3 of my time talking to my guildies, so the only update I want is one that implements the ability to talk in different CoLouRS :P

Honestly i find no problem in the way things are done for the most part, if you get bored of the gameplay then you arent taking the game to the next level yourself, thats what having an active guild is for, if you work with that guild and make up challenges and games to play the game itself is more then what the producer gives you.

If all you can think about is "ohh yay reskins AGAIN...." then your looking for to much from this game in content, honestly i love the gunner update and the other things that are in the works. Mostly because i hope that it will have a positive effect on gameplay like balance but you know, we all have things we want to see happen. But dont go blaming a company saying you dont do enough when they dont have such a big team to work on it to begin with.

Not to mention making new areas and other things like that take alot longer then making something like a gunner update, so thats why were going to see that first as apposed to a new boss. But seriously chill out dont rage over something like a gobble snipe, ouh i think its honestly kinda funny what they did with them.

But to answer your question if your the only one? No. there are alot of other people that rage like you do.

You're the only one.
Three Rings has released aesthetic promotional items once every month for the past 21 months. You only just noticed this?

No you are 'not' the only one. It's true, majority of updates have been heavily focused on cosmetics. The main problem that many f2p players had was that those people who put money into the game (nothing wrong with that, anyone who thinks that is stupid is an idiot) always ended up getting the "best" accessories that they would then sell on later for huge profit. This is not a complaint, this is a fact. Most f2p can't keep up with those who pay, fact. Just incase if I haven't made this clear, not all f2p have this problem, most do. And there is no issue with anyone spending money on the game.

Now I could be wrong about this next part, but what 000s has done, is I believe, implemented a new system that allows everyone, to get what they want just as easy as someone could paying. Obviously for f2p they still need to grind and play the game, and obviously p2p will still get the things they want faster, bottom line is either way, both groups will get what they want. By making elevators free and adding those super rare accessories, we all dream of having, to the supply depot, I think 000s have achieved something quite brilliant here.

Another amusing thing is that all those guys who were stocking up on those "rare" accessories got done over hard. If all of you guys remember my "Official Bazaar Price Checking Thread" you will remember I wanted one day that all prices will be sort of fixed, not based on "someones" assumption, as no one truly knows the true price of any item. If 000s continue to release these rare accessories continuously on the supply depot this will ultimately fix prices to affordable prices for all, and stop all those "rich" guys from buying out all rare accessories and profiting later. For example instead of putting this new autumn leafy aura on auction house featured and only "rich" people bidding taking it to millions of cr then selling it on to someone else for millions, 000s has made it so anyone with enough ce can buy it.

Obviously reselling the rare accessories later, once there is a supply and demand issue will happen. So the rich guys will probably stock up regardless. My point is though the way 000s has done it, anyone playing while these things go up on the depot will be able to buy it so they wont have to worry about rich guys buying them all out. Again I could be wrong about all this as I haven't logged in for a while, but the recent re release of all those wings, prismatics, shadows, auras, halo accessories that people were selling for 40kce plus, suggests to me this could come again.

Either way I'm happy, I got my Divine Valks for 7kce, at one point they were 3-4 times more expensive when I playing back in May. So if 000s continues to make this game more equal for f2p and p2p and adds the odd decent content every now and again, I can see more people coming back to Spiral Knights.

If anyone finds all this confusing, it kind of is. Use the system Blacklight Retribution developers have used in terms of f2p and p2p as an example.

On the other hand Lockdown is

On the other hand Lockdown is terrible.

If you take LD seriously and end up being the worst player, you'll feel like deleting your character. This is because getting new gear and heating gear takes way too long.

The result is quit.

Lockdown needs a balance. UVs need to not be superpowers, but regular, additions to players who have nothing to do with their crowns. Players WILL quit if UVs won't matter in Lockdown.

But think of the result. With Lockdown perfectly balanced, no gear/UVs to rely on, everybody having the same HP, defense, attack power, then new Lockdown players will stay in Spiral Knights for a long time.

It's time to speak the truth.

A variety of gear and UVs ruin Lockdown.

Let the rich players leave, who cares? Hundreds of new players will then fill in their place, and balance Lockdown.

Just saying that I didn't have this problem. I used the following gear in LD.

1. Vog Cub helm with UV medium piercing
2. Snarbg Armour with Shadow Valk Wings
3. Final Flourish with UV ASI medium
4. Gran Faust with UV ASI medium
5. 5 star heart pendant x 2

I am not saying I am the best LockDown player, but I am good. I was cleaning the floor with most people on the EU servers who had full skolver with MAX UVs and V.High ASI final flourish and gran faust. I never once felt as though I was at a disadvantage. Obviously I was killed a good number of times by them as well, but my damage and caps were always equal or better than most.

If you want a mode where everything is equal for everyone. Then make a standard default striker class with fixed weapons and trinkets and have AT set to off with no way of changing them. Then see how good people "really" are at Lockdown.

I bet it took you a long time

I bet it took you a long time to get that.

Maybe it could go like this:

You keep your armor... But it won't affect your stats. Like Blast Network.

Then, you equip some sort of shield (Lockdown special) and some weapon (Lockdown special).

Maybe the UVs can count... But they won't affect as much... Which is good.

Whether it took me a year or a few weeks (in my case few weeks) the point is f2p are at no disadvantage to p2p if you are good at something.

Well, Not-Hollows...

We have learned that SEGA has acquired OOO (link's somewhere, can't be bothered to find it, it's on the OOO website though). And we also know that SEGA recently has not been doing that well. Additionally, we know that SEGA has influenced SK (take that Tails's Tail or the Metal Sonic Costume). And don't forget the principle that SEGA, being not nonprofit, wants to make money at every opportunity like all nonnonprofit companies do. Take the rapidly spiking Energy prices, the Radiant drought, and the insane prices for the new aura, I think it's not amiss to say that SEGA is trying to make a tidy pile here.

Sega are corrupting 000s???

Sega are corrupting 000s??? But it can't be.......sonic was the first game I played on the sega mega drive....I love sega for sonic.....sega can't be an evil organisation set out to take over the world....I won't believe it.

Really, if 000s believe they are better off without Sega, they would have ditched them ages ago.

Well, Xtweeterx...

If you noticed, OOO is a small company. Small dev team for small and infrequent updates, etc. They need sponsors, and SEGA is the biggest one they can get right now.

I forgot to mention. I play

I forgot to mention. I play this game called Don't Starve. It is made by a small team called Klei. Anyone who wants to know what proper customer service is, then check them out. This isn't an insult to 000s because I hold them in high regard as well. It's just a way of me saying there's one way to improve. I don't think 000s needed a sponsor. This game had the potential to be great as long as the team behind it are 100% dedicated. 000s are the geniuses behind Spiral knights, not Sega.

Edit: why are we even discussing sega and 000? It's all old news. Over the last few months and recent updates, I would say 000 are doing a great job of making this game more f2p. The elevator removal cost was the best thing ever. And the rare accessory update. More of those, maybe every 4 or so months and the market for the rare accessories will finally be stable and affordable for everyone. No more "I have a 50kce worth accessory attached to my costume, and I am famous, so everyone worship me cuz I is super rich and cool and hangout with other super rich a pimped out cool people, if you want one b/o is 100kce" attitude.

my 2 cents

Don't start comparing F2P games to another.... and Indie dev to another... Minecraft is an indie game, LoL is a F2P... the most played game atm (ok GTA V is up there too, but it's AAA titles with billions of budget)

Because a lot of games are better than SK... Loadout (close beta, F2P FPS when it launch), Path of Exile (launched 1 month ago, ARPG Diablo II like, made by the Brother laz who made Mediian XL), League of Legends/Heroes of Newerth/DOTA2/Heroes of Storm/Smite (MOBA F2P games that changed gaming industry)

The thing about Sega is that it helps guarantee OOO's income. But a side effect is that SK becomes a franchise of Sega.

There's nothing wrong with comparing games to other games. If you had nothing to compare something to, you would never be able to improve. Obviously you cant compare smaller games to those multimillion pound games but I compared 2 relatively small games. In all honesty I think SK and DS are better than most of those big money, big name titles. Blacklight Retribution, a f2p fps online game is better than COD or BF, in my personal opinion.

Shareholders.

Blame them. The only real reason anything is made (especially entertainment) is to make "big ones". Shareholders get the largest say in terms of generally what is added, and devs getting the say in design and mechanics. Blame SEGA, as they're the Shareholders. I still feel betrayed by the lies we were told about a certain update though...

EDIT: Arch, it's not british pounds. It's USD, since almost all AAA titles are made in the United States.
