Welcome, Knight. The Spiral Order is the one in charge around here, and they've set about organizing a basic privatized military structure. While all rescued knights are knights of the Spiral Order, individual groups are allowed to form their own coalitions and only have to assist with the directive of survival and exploration.
As of yet, I haven't seen any groups that are specific to following the Order to its fullest extent, or be rogues to the contrary. There are plans to establish the 1st Armored Division of the Spiral Order, but efforts have fallen to the wayside as equipment is becoming rarer and energy becoming scarce. Should any groups ever materialize, we'll make sure that you get the application to apply immediately. We need our Knights now more than ever!
OOC/OT: To be honest, no idea if there are any. The closest I remember was a guild with a very long name that seemed like a string of random letters (started with S, like Sjandflskaji), and they kept a well documented thread that was RPish about their travels and findings. However, if they actually acted that way in game, I derno.

Is it known if Knights are
Is it known if Knights are even biological in nature? There is at least one instance of a knight being referred to as "she" (in the Core) but I haven't read over the earlier-game dialogue to check if there are also incidents of referring to a knight as a "he."
Not that it necessarily means anything. CASTs in PSO had gender, or at least gender identity, but were clearly not biological. (In Phantasy Star Zero's story mode, however, the party's CAST is not above staring at well-endowed members of the opposite gender... even of biological species.)
Basically I have no idea if my dude's a... well, a dude. And all those unsolicited trade requests are rather suspicious...

Hey, I'd be happy to RP. The loose storyline combined with lots of people sitting around with no energy would allow for some great RP.
Now that I'm thinking about it, just what is the story? The Skylark crashed and slowly knights are waking up on the planet. Their misson: To go where-- er, to reach the insanely high power readings from the core, take it out, fix the ship, and go home. Too bad under the surface of the planet is the Clockworks, a mechanical masterpiece built by beings unknown. It seems to have been designed to prevent others from delving deeper and reaching the core.
An alpha team was sent to investigate; they never returned.
Vanaduke was a prince who lost his kingdom. He gave up everything to defeat the invaders by praying to a dark god, and now is cursed. His kingdom is a charred remnant of what it once was, and all inhabitants are either dead or undead.
Some rumors I've heard but can't find proof of:
--The Skylark was shot down.
--The Strangers are not native to Cradle.
--The trojans are the lost alpha team.
Given how there are holes in the story, it would be rather easy to make a history for your knight.
