For a 5 star sword it really falls short of the competition.

A slight damage increase is fine, but the abysmal fact that the chance for the weapon
to cause strong poison does not increase from the previous Vile Striker is a let down.

Please increase the slight chance by one degree, to a fair chance which I believe is the next step up.

The striker line of swords in

The striker line of swords in general need a "buff" of sorts.

There's pretty much no noticeable difference upgrading from the Cutter to the Striker.

Really? have you tried using a Cutter over Dread Venom in Tier 3? Tell me which is better.

the weapon line is swift and

the weapon line is swift and has a 10 hit combo no? that more than warrants the chance of poison if each hit can cause poison

During the early days of the beta, the cutter line was so OP everyone was using it. Devs nerfed it to this condition so it was balanced.

BTW have you guys every used a Wild Hunting Blade in FSC? It does 120 some + 50 some damage in one slash, so about two cuts will be equal to a DA attack, and the other two will be equal to the last attack. 4(120+50)+(200+100)=??? It's good as is, in my opinion.

A bit off-topic, but I'm curious - Vlad, how do you use a cutter-series in FSC? I got stuck once in a T3 Graveyard with a Vile Striker and found it rather difficult since it lacks any practical knockback. Do you do 4 hits and shield? Or run around to always stay behind the slags?

I think ppl who are using the

I am not talking about adding damage to the set.

I think ppl who are using the Dread Venom Striker know what I am talking about,
if you compare them using a lot of lvl 5 swords it is now underpowered.

It should be better than the weapon before it, right now the improvement
from Vile Striker to Dread Venom Striker is underwhelming.

Seeing that the chance of causing poison was actually the same as the previous sword, just sucked the fun out of the weapon.

I do not find a slight chance of strong poison to inflict the condition enough to make it even worth wielding it.

A small bump to fair would make it worth using.

The combo often leaves you vulnerable so is balanced, yet poisoning an enemy
when the last strike in the combo kills them any ways is not a strategic advantage.

again its balanced... the 10

again its balanced... the 10 hit combo is more than adequate for the slight chance of poison

When you compare DVS to the 5

When you compare DVS to the 5 star brandish series of swords
which all have an improved status effect chance to their previous versions.

http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Brandish

The DVS is an illogical let down.

As a vile striker user, I do

As a vile striker user, I do wish the DVS would increase that status chance. I can kill lumbers with 20 hits and not poison them once. I can bombard JK with hits and not poison him (after I've run out of poison pots). The "slight" chance in this game of pseudo-random numbers can really suck the fun out of a weapon whose primary reason for existence won't proc. By the time I go DVS, I would really hope to poison a bit sooner than NEVER.
