Yep, a similar thread was done about this months ago. I want to know the true reason about why there aren't Cards about Spiral Knights in Steam yet. I got a bit dissapointed when the Summer Sales come for Steam and A LOT OF games got trading cards and emoticons. Why Spiral Knight wasn't one of those games? Why?
I guess that the GMs will not answer me, but at least, i want to convince OOO that the Steam trading cards can be a good idea for Spiral Knight if they read this thread:
* About 8 or 10 Cards to collect: It can be official artworks that OOO has done, for example the three Battle Sprites, artworks of Gremlins and other monsters or even knights with bombs, swords or accesories in different positions/arts.
* Small emoticons after collecting the cards: The emoticons can be Mewkats, Love Puppies, a Proto Bomb, Pickups or the head of a Mecha Knight.
* Good wallpapers for your profile when you craft the 8-10 cards, OOO has various done already like the Snarbolax or the Ironclaw Munitions Factory.
* This doesn't make differences between F2P and P2P, this is just about Steam, not about the game.
* Cards and emoticons can increase the popularity of Spiral Knights in Steam, this means more players playing it = $$$
* Selling and buying cards in the Steam Market = $$$
Now the general comments and questions that somebody would do:
"But Spiral Knight is a F2P"
So? Games like Warframe are F2P and GOT cards in the Summer Sales. The system was a card for every 9,95 $ spend in the game (this can be different for Spiral Knight, obviously)
"What about the emoticons? OOO has better things to do than creating small emoticons for his game."
I don't see the problem, other games like Garry's Mod left their fans in the forum to create the emoticons under a dimension pixel rules. I think that the Spiral fanbase has good artists and predisposed people to do this work. This has been seen a lot of times in Halloween and Christmas events
Unless there is some kind of STRONG rule that forbids OOO doing this (maybe a SEGA contract, i have no idea), Nick is missing a really good opportunity to make easily money and at same time making players happy enjoying about this... Or no?
I apologize for my english grammatical errors, i tried my best.
Can't wait fro SteamOS xD but...
What the heck is a Steam trading Card?
