So today I was selling stuff and someone pm-ed me about wanting to buy my Prismatic Mohawk. I was too busy with Heart of Ice so I just mailed it to him, thinking he'd mail the money or just wait for me to get back to haven. I remember he had a nice costume so I assumed he was trust worthy.. He wasn't a friend so I had to pm him if he got it but it said he logged out. :( I know it's my fault I lost an item.

Is there any way to know if someone has put you in ignore list? Should I really give up on the community if even the high prestige ranked knights would just take your stuff without paying? :P

If anything is possible, is it possible something is impossible?

Now you know you should trade instead.

Eh.

Scammers have existed for a long time. I would say it is your fault for being too trusting and naive. Especially if you had a prismatic item. This is the internet, not your house.

I know. I got impatient.

I was asking if it was possible to know if he just ignored me or if he just got logged out. :)

It should tell you if they are online or offline.
As for ignoring, that is unavailable.

Hey there.

I know this isn't the most helpful advice but it's darn near what you're gonna hear echoing from future players. Don't ever mail. Even If you know the guy meet up with them and do a face to face trade.

I don't think you should give up on the community because there are some rare gems in the desert. Some of the merchants/buyers are actually trustworthy. And if you doubt someone you should ask around to see if they're up to snuff being worthy give equal trades.

But you acknowledged that it was your fault so really the only thing you can do its just learn from your mistake and chalk it up as a loss this time.
Cheers.

Edit: Greninja'd. I'm too slow D:

if you want to know if someone ignored you its simple. send PM with your actual Knight, if you dont get an answer back then make an alt-knight (another knight whatever you want to call it) and then send again PM something like "hey" "hello" if him answer back when you send it to the knight then yes he put your original knight in ignored list.

-Generic Subject Line-

You expected that just handing a complete stranger an item through an interface that doesn't require them to pay you would not result in them just running off with it? Now you know, hope for trustworthiness, but trust no-one.

Sorry about trusting other people then. I just got the idea from Apophis-Set who sent me an item before I paid for it.

kindness is easily taken than given.

Shame these things happen from time to time. I would say most of the fault lies on you Chicoy. You gave a guy the chance to scam you. Now I cant insult him as maybe he logged off for some important reason. Maybe he wasn't supposed to be playing and his mom walked in and battered him. I am giving him a huge benefit of the doubt here. Still if you don't get any ce or cr sent to you in the mail any time soon, I wouldn't wait. Your item is gone.

There aren't many 'good' guys around. Sometimes you will come across someone honest and it's those moments that makes this game feel special. I honestly feel for you, but the bottom line is this, you didn't really lose anything, the guy who cheated you lost a lot.

Sorry to hear about your case. I'm afraid I can't offer anything other than sympathy. It's super discouraging when you get scammed or outright hijacked.

Thought we already have the /trade emote.

Even if you were busy with a mission or something, you should have at least talked a bit without sending the item. It's hard to find trusworthy people now that the term beggers took affectand people thought it was cool.

I certainly would not be tempted by internet liars.

perhaps you could try..

maybe try contacting 'Support' . i'm not sure if it is against the Terms of Service to scam in the way that you were, but i do know that it is definately frowned upon heavily.

here is a link to support items: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Support_Portal

here is a link to description of reportable items: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Complain

you can file a report in-game by clicking on the '?' in bottom left corner of the screen and then clicking on the 'support' tab on top left of that screen. then click on the highlighted center option 'support request'. be sure and have the offending knight's name spelled correctly and if you can, include a date and time of the infraction. just a shot, but maybe somebody higher up can look into this via chat and other methods. remember, only post names in the support ticket and not over public channels. hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks.

Been doing what Sweet-Hope had suggested. No luck yet. I was even thinking that if he really needed the item and he didn't have the money to pay for it, a simple thank you and sorry would have sufficed. It's just a virtual item, after all.

WHat?

This happened before too, but in a different form. My friend in the old version of SK dropped a GF accidentally, and a guy picked it up before him. My friend told him to give it back and the other dude said "sure". But he never gave it back and logged off instantly.
