I'm bored at my brothers so I decided to make this thread to burn some time :p

Good:
1.free elevators
2.battle sprites
3.supply depot sales(I know some people didn't like this due to the fact that they wasted so much cr and E in the past on the items, but to me it's a good thing since I got many accessories for cheap prices)
4.The new aprocrean weapons
5.many changing events like winterfest, hallow, gourmet and many more

Bad:
1.Less radiant crystal drop rate.(Aka :da drought)
2.new forge system
3.cost of UV tickets
4.drakon nerf :'(
5.failure to make new clockwork depths

so what is your list of good and bad things of this game??
post below!!!

Whimsicality

+ Pros +

1) The top-down isometric view and the gameplay reminds me heavily of the Legend of Zelda series, which is what has kept me glued.

2) It's free. You can buy CE with cash if you want to, but it's no longer mandatory. Plus it's fun. I wouldn't be playing if it wasn't.

3) The art direction is phenomenal, a pleasing sight on the eyes even considering the small production team. I love the character design of the Knights and monsters alike.

4) Customization options up the wazoo. From costumes, to accessories, to different weapons each with their own cool look and feel, to different playstyles and control schemes. The possibilities are endless. Even if many things are just reskins, I'd love to collect just about as much as possible. Except for those Shard Bombs...

5) The introduction of Elite mode is a step in the right direction, and the expansion of Arcade seems promising. Sneaking into Spiral Spy and the preview server only fuels my anticipation.

- Cons -

1) The mission system. The allure of the game was an expansive, ever-changing world that was free to explore. This gave the player a sense that they didn't know what to expect all the time, and that they would have to play for a long time to see everything the Clockworks had to offer. The Mission system streamlined and dumbed down this concept to oblivion, making Firestorm Citadel the only viable choice for efficient grinding for a disgusting amount of time. There are a few gems hidden among these missions, but they are few and far.

2) Existence of King of Ashes also prompted the entire userbase to just ignore the mission system entirely, and beg to be dragged to the FSC mission, because it's just a click away for Vanguards. This promoted a very toxic mindset in newer players, and put off many to running the game the way it was intended.

3) The Shard Bomb update was among one of the worst balance changes next to Acheron's hyper buff. I just don't see myself having fun with these pieces of trash anymore. Rest in Peace, striker snipers. The only way I see to fixing these horrible bombs are removing invincitinks, as the shards are seldom ever close enough from a single bomb to resurrect the 1shot terror that Nick loathes. Or, just make it so enemies make the individual shards detonate upon contact, rather than waiting out a timer. I'd still prefer the Retro Sun Shards.

4) On the topic of balance, defensive sets are not viable in any situation ever. Resistance UV's are overpowered over defense UV's, attack speed UV's are more desirable over damage bonus UV's, most weapons are laughable, heart trinkets are absurd over defense trinkets. With that said, I couldn't care less so long as I still have fun, being a powerhouse can be fun from time to time. I still wish they would buff Mad Bomber already. Sick of seeing all the 'Nerf Chaos' threads, really.

5) The community is getting more and more immature and intolerable by the day. It wasn't amazing to begin with, but it's more prominent. I wish the GM's did a bit of a more noticable job in cleaning up the community.

The good:
1. Easy to play, drop in and drop out of a party at will and can go where ever you want and do what ever you want.
2. Weapon diversity, there is always more stuff to get.
3. Rewarding, watching enemies vapourizes and drop coins is cool.
4. Challenging, 6 types of enemies and about 24 variations excluding the bosses.
5. Costumization option near unlimited.

The bad:
1. No Radiant heat crystal, no point of making any weapons into 5* (make it 375 CE per 50 crystals already >:( )
2. Getting grindy in the late game.
3. Huge gape between the P2P and the F2P.
4. Too much recycled and unoriginal contents.
5. Compounds that made arcade a ghost town.

Good
- Fun, skill-based gameplay in an MMO
- Wonderful art style that coherently encompasses adorable Mewkats, stylish Rose Regalia, and menacing Lord Vanaduke
- A large, thriving player base who generally don't react to others with toxicity (there are exceptions...)
- Variety in gameplay: From randomly created levels, to unique boss levels/fights, to different weapon types
- Amazing musical soundtrack

Bad
- Combat is almost always offense oriented, making most equipment with only defensive bonuses worthless in PvE
- Some weapons and armor are simply inferior to others, rendering them obsolete
- While a lot of the community is nice/friendly, there are still a lot of vitriolic hate and toxicity (particularly in Lockdown)
- There's a lot of grinding involved, albeit this issue is starting to become less prominent with free elevators and orb drops
- The main form of PvP, Lockdown, is heavily skewed in favor of old veterans with a lot of time/money invested into their gear

good and bad as static

good and bad as static concepts don't exist. they are interchangeable depending what side of the railroad tracks your on. whats good for me may be bad for you, ya dig?

I do like
1. its free
2. its playable
3. quite a few paths to take within the three core classes
4. if I get tired of solo-ing I can always hunt around for a group to play with.
5. I can use a gamepad for the authentic castlevania/Zelda lovechild feel

I don't appreciate the following
1. theres a delay when using items, if a gerjillion slimes are circle jerking on me in the royal jelly palace and I need life NOW im dead.
2. I cant use items while in the middle of a combo, or pretty much anytime else. my fingers are constantly on the hotkeys, so theres almost no lag between screen--eyeballs--brain--finger this kinda screws me up because I need it when I need it, not in 10 seconds, but NOW.
3. alchemy orb drop rates.... err... the lack thereof. zilcho.
4. moonstone and valestone are useless as far as I can tell, cant even sell them.
5. hotdogs for sale! from lil smokies to foot longs, if your craving a wiener of any size ive got one for you

Pros and cons:

Pros:

  1. The games content, mostly all of it is free
  2. Grinding for raidiant fire crystals
  3. Grinding for 5 star trinkets to sell to basil
  4. long term friendships
  5. Studying the game

Cons:

  1. PvP (player versus player) community
  2. Some players talk big,,,then say they need help on snarby which is understandable
  3. *Goes down a level* wait, I heard this track before 3 times (music)
  4. patching time (one time I had 42 hours)
  5. People rushing you (also understandable)

also, the fact that you can't view post that you posted in unless you decide you should bookmark it.

- Nice accessories/character customization options
- Gameplay is fun, has capabilities for exploration, and improving one's skills
- Encourages great social interaction, generally nice community with some awesome people
- Completely free to play if you put the time into it
- Appeals to a variety of ages
Bonus: Game Masters have been there to help everytime <3

Eh, negatives . . .

- PvP is fun, but needs a lot of work to take it further
- Bug fixes that don't happen (can't believe zombies are still getting pushed off the bottom in FSC)
- Balance issues, when the community has pointed out some major ones
- Moar fun events perferred, rather than cosmetic ones
- Lack of improvements/new updates for guilds and guild halls

1 (Good/Bad) to 5 (Best/Worst)

Good

+ Truly F2P. I'm pretty thankful that the game went 100% F2P since before it was such a chore to move up to 5* with the old mist system. While I always paid for elevator passes, I knew in the back of my head I wouldn't play if I could only enter 10 depths in 23ish hours, it left a lot to be desired and was too limited, especially when a 3* in JK couldn't keep up with the rising CE prices.

+ Music is awesome. I actually don't listen to the music as much anymore, but it stands strong to have very catchy tunes that match themes very well. I'd actually love if they had more boss themes, one for each boss if possible.

+ Graphics are awesome. I love the cartoony art style. The clockworks look awesome, even in low graphics. You can explore a variety of themes in the clockworks, whether it be toxic, frosty, destructive, it all looks incredible, even on low. The armors and costumes look pretty great and there's nothing I like more than customizing how my character looks.

+ Many playstyles/skill oriented. The amount of ways to destroy your foes is delightful thanks to the variety of weapons in our arsenal. Want to slash a thing to death quickly? Brandish it. Rather knock it back and keep you safe? Seal Sword it. Range DPS? Argent or Sentenza it. Do anything you want, there's absolutely nothing stopping you except your funds, which thanks to free elevators, is a moot issue unless you don't play at all. And even when you have the most powerful gear, you still need the skill to back it up, especially when defense at the moment does little for you.

+ Fun. There's not much to say other than that the game is fun, it draws you in because of how fast paced and action filled it is. Sure, it does get boring after a couple years, but there's plenty of ways to keep the fun going, whether it be LD or the usage of different weapons.

+ Community. I'd like to add another, I actually like the community a bunch, side some annoying people that can't learn from mistakes in PvE or very particular people in LD that have pride stroking their egos. Many people here are actually willing to help each other out and make experiences in any game mode a pleasure. GMs, while quiet on the forums sometimes, actually help in-game quite a bit, especially in support. They could just, y'know, not talk at all and respond to your support tickets for half a year like some other game I know.

Bad

- Lore isn't emphasized. Honestly, as much as I like the lore, it's too paper thin. Too many things are unexplained, such as where Rhendon is, where King Krogmo came from, is Captain Ozlo all right, who is the entity inside the Sanctuary, and the biggest question of all that no one ever stops asking, what about the Core and Alpha Team? Leaves a lot to be desired. Our commanding officers and helpers don't leave much an impression on me, I can't seem to remember half of the people I seem to take orders from, remembering only 3 at most. I know that the story is being creating along the way, but some gaps have been left open for way past long.

- Forge is an annoyance. Yes, it's necessary. Though I can't like it whatsoever cause it slows level-ups to a crawl and the far more dreaded thing is that it's RNG based with a lovely hit or miss factor. Playing the game mentioned earlier is known for being incredibly lucked based, which drove me away from playing it. Plus, as if elite orbs weren't hard enough to find already, radiants are now close to impossible to get, leaving about 5 items in my arsenal unheatable, and if this continues till January, 10+ items will become unheatable cause there is absolutely no way me or anyone else for that matter will buy a pack of 50 of 800 CE when it costs 400+ radiants to max a single weapon, I'm no fool of RNG to take chances with min and mid. Lately people had suggested doing SLs to get radiants but that is such a bogus band-aid solution. Yeah, I do have fun doing SLs, they're tough and fun, but they're expensive, even when split 450 CE a party member, and no longer rewarding after you get your desired armor sets. Even from a new unheated 5* user perspective, what are they suppose to do?

- Repetitive. This game suffers from awful repetition, most particularly in the clockworks. The levels are constantly rehashed endlessly to the point that once I jump in and do a couple levels, I begin to nod off. Playing a game such as this for 2 years straight is a feat that even I couldn't accomplish, even as much as I love it. It's just so dead, even after boring myself of FSC, the clockworks don't cut it for excitement anymore cause the levels don't vary. Even costume promotions, that I do buy anyway, are just recolors at points or flat out ugly.

- Balance issues. There are delusional people in the community that are accepting of how our arsenal stands. It is not okay. Most UVs are usually unhelpful, status, ASI, and CTR are the best, defense and DMG vs. Family are useless. Defense as it stands does nothing for you over what offense does. DMG vs. Family is completely flawed when you could get a blanket DMG bonus vs Everything. Some weapons are too strong, most weapons are too weak. Armor is just an extreme, it either gives you blanket offensive buffs or it's garbage otherwise. LD, while fun, has many issues because of how easily a class weakness is negated, most notably Striker. Bombers have it rough.

- No direction/wasted potential. There's a lot to be done with the game, but it doesn't really go anywhere. Okay, so say the core opens, then what? Do we up and leave Cradle and explore a new planet? Do we explore the surface? Crimson Order and Swarm showdowns? There's really more to be done than just keep heading down endlessly over and over, even when that is the core of the game itself. Besides where the game is suppose to be headed, there's also stuff that could simply be added to the game to increase fun to be had, like more game modes, more maps, viable weapons, puzzles, and secrets. Not to mention...everything is just so slow to come to the game.

3.Reskins of gear

4. Radiant drought

5.Knights asking for SoLs

Ugly:
1.Not me

2.Acheron buff

Meh, why not.

Good
1. Great music all around.
2. You can do pretty much whatever and customize a lot.
3. Pretty good community
4. There are good playstyle options as well as having a 3/4 top-down view. There are some aspects that are similar to classics like Legend of Zelda.
5. Great art style

And for the bad:
1. There are things with good potential that just aren't quite right. The forge, the resource drain aspect of battle sprites, balance, the coliseum to name a few.
2. Some of these people ...
3. Grinding same ol' levels to get a whatchamacallit for the thingamabobber to get the doohicky.
4. Compounds... 'Nuff said.
5. Big changes that upset the community.

There actually are secrets Annilaton

Many are just widely known, but I show players these secrets all the time. There's the switch in the rocks in the stone grove, and the hidden ghost block in operation crimson hammer. But I digress, there just aren't that many secrets. :(

I'll edit this in a moment when I get on my computer

I'll contribute.

Good:

  1. Under-rated yet really fun
  2. Cutsie colorful artstyle
  3. The community
  4. My friends and my guildmates
  5. Spending a few bucks for stuff really feels good. Like Not-Hallows said
  6. Simple yet effective playstyle

Bad:

  1. The PvP community (Blast Network excluded)
  2. Short updates. Mostly consist of prize box promos
  3. Getting your face handed to you in a T1 arena

Ugly:

  1. People that complain about the forge, new UI, balance, radiant crystals, etc
  2. People that play SK exclusively for the TF2 hat then just abandon the game forever probably without a second thought
  3. Vanaduke's face after he loses his mask in phase 3
  4. The PvP community (Blast Network excluded)
  5. A FEW types of people on the forums. I'll let you figure that out yourself
  6. People that blame AT for their shortcomings in PvP
  7. People that flaunt their wealth and master miner achievement in everyone's faces. Intentionally or not
  8. People who don't see truth or logic behind things
  9. People that tell others how to play the game, or just going ape(BLOOP) on a simple question/experiment
  10. People that criticize others for asking a simple question such as who a famous person is rather than just educating/telling them in a nice, monotone mature manner

<insert witty comment here>

Good:
1) Free to play

2) Has its own take on the "combat trangle" typical of an MMO; Swords are Melee, Handguns are Ranged/Archery and Bombs are Magic (being that they specialise in statuses and AoE effects)

3) Playing the game with a party makes the game more social and fun. Most of the time.

4) Has a pretty unique feel to it, and the music is awesome.

5) Good amount of customisation with costumes.

Bad:
1) I'm happy with most updates, however the two that really got on my nerves were the Shard Bombs; while I never used the old ones the new ones could have done with a little more "oomph". And the Radiant Crystal drop nerf; now 5* items will be forever weaker than their 4* fully-heated counterparts. And before you say it, doing Shadow Lairs is not a viable solution. It might be if you buy your wealth, but I don't and I am really tired of grinding, and grinding for the funds to chip in for a Key would just make me cry.

2) The LD community always complaining about Autotarget and what's overpowered; they don't realise that they might have a bad connection or just plain suck at it.

3) The game becomes a humungous grindfest mid-to-late game. Because of the grinding you see the same levels over and over again and it becomes repetitive. Repitition makes a game boring. The clockworks were designed to avoid that happening (I'm hoping the redux will add more variation). And once we reach the core, it's locked and we still can't open it. There's potential for the game to expand beyond the one mission to reach the core and open it.

4) Compound levels.

5) The constant promotions - I'm aware that the game is F2P and needs some sort of revenue to keep it going but the promotions just really grate on my nerves.

Oh goodie, a balance thread!

Pro's:
The game is free.
Elevators are free.
It's not runned by Kingsisle or Blizzard.
Family friendly game.
Snipe's cute as hell.

Con's:
That, even though it's a free game, OOO still wants to suck your wallet dry.
The devs, CM's and GM's are being awfully ignorant of us forumers.
How the connection bar lies to you 1/2 the time.
How unique variants aren't so unique.
The Terms of Service seem to be written in legalese and is very vague to anybody who is not a lawyer.

Relatively few bugs
Nice graphics
Decent music

Bad:

Devs are horrible at balancing and listeniing to others
Community has a tad too many idiotic and immature people
Community is quite dumpy, different to it in 2011
Game is going nowhere

Thats about it....game was good, but is stagnant and decaying. Worst part is, the devs act like mold rather than growth agents, and are only speeding up the game's downfall.

Good: The community.
Bad: The community.
Ugly: ...You guessed it, the community.

I have to say, the community is why I love this game. It's so actively social, and the players genuinely try to get to know people. In my guilds, I've always met genuinely good people, and there are parties and actual, real hangout sessions. I can spend hours in my day just talking to people, in SK.

The community can also be a real pain, as people sometimes don't think before speaking or make stupid choices. The level of immaturity here can be striking, but there are always easy solutions to dealing with those people.

And then there are the all around no fun to be with people, who are condescending, arrogant, self-centered and naive. It's all about the egos, the wins, and the glory. They don't think before they say something hurtful, and they really don't care what they're doing. Honestly, every community will have those people, and they might not go away. It's just an ugly part of a truly wonderful community.
