If the 4* Avenger is meant to banish devilites and other fiends, why does it have elemental damage? Shouldn't it be piercing? And if you're going to give it Elemental damage, then at least put a Fiend Damage bonus on it. This can also be applied to the Divine Avenger. Unless they DO have a fiend damage buff on them and it's just like, unlisted.
I just realized something.
So let's see. Just because I used to a Divine Avenger (I sold it because I never used it. Sue me), and read EVERY DESCRIPTION of each item ever (some of them have clever little things in them) totally means I use it against fiends and will keep using it on fiends every time? Yeah. I TOTALLY trust everything a description says! Hell, I better not wear my Vog Coat because it smells like a forest fire, or bring my non-existent voltaic tempest into the Jelly palace because it has water! Or maybe even just throw away my Perfect Mask of Seerus because it's so demonically evil! And my muscles are always tightening when I hold my Storm Driver! And let's not forget, I ALWAYS believe I'm making tidal waves with my Leviathan blade!
TL;DR: LOGIC, JELLYEATER DO YOU SEE IT!?!?
The description hails from back when fiends actually were weak to elemental.
In fact, most things were weak to elemental.

"Previously, each monster had its own set of resistances to the four types of damage (Normal [NML], Piercing [PRC], Elemental [ELE] and Shadow [SHD]). Some of these you were likely already aware of: Slimes were generally strong against Piercing and weak to Elemental, Zombies were resistant to Shadow, and so on. While these resistances were all flavorful, taken as a whole, they made it so most monsters were weak to Piercing and Elemental damage, making some weapons a lot more useful than others."
You know, unlike today when no weapons are more useful than others.
Wait for the divine set to be fixed and use that instead, it gives a vs fiend bonus, so that somewhat works.
This guy, ha. He actually trusts weapon descriptions. Ha.
