Charge Time Reduction Shield

After meticulously maneuvering my way through the magical land known as the forums, I have masticated upon my decision of what gear to get. Something seems to be missing from the arsenal list...

Apart from holy-hand-grenades, one thing that I firmly believe should be implemented is a Charge Time Reduction Shield. Since there is already an Attack Speed Increase Shield (the Swiftstrike Buckler), it would make much sense for there to be a counterpart shield that gives charge time reduction.

Here's an idea of how this might work out:

Peerless Parma
- 3*
- CTR Low or Medium
- Defensive power: Normal & Health (same as the Swiftstrike Buckler)
- Design: I don't have a great design idea for it, but I was thinking it might be neat to have the same design as the Swiftstrike, except the spiral would go the opposite way and the color of the swirl would be reddish-purple instead of greenish-yellow.

Comments, constructive criticizm, and cute kittens are appreciated.

No.

We don't need more CTR; Chaos already takes care of that.

CTR is... much more precious than ASI or Damage bonuses. So I'm going to say no. ESPECIALLY CTR high... that would be absolutely insane, and would probably be the only thing people ever used. I myself am a Chaos user, and I get the trade-off of better offense for the fact that when I get a status condition, I'm most likely going to die from it. With this, I'd immediately take off my Chaos, put on my Snarbolax, and could just go on with my day without worry, now with better defenses and EVEN MORE damage. I say this because when I'm wearing Chaos, I also use Swiftstrike. Why? Well, I never use it since I'm always spamming charge attacks, so that's a good question that even I couldn't answer. I probably should use a better shield, but whatever.

TL;DR: Hell no.

Quite the backlash...

Would a Charge Time Reduction low or medium be better, then? I'll fix that in my original post.

Oh...

Still no. Also, how would it even work? How would it make sense that your shield helps you charge faster? The Barbarous Thorn Shield, theoretically, gives you the power of the Snarbolax (increasing your sword damage). The Swiftstrike Buckler is a lightweight shield that allows you to maneuver your weapon more freely. So how would they even explain a CTR shield in the first place?

Good Question

I honestly don't have a good explanation for it... though does every piece of armor have a neat and tidy explanation? Take Charge Time Reduction trinkets, for example. They don't have descriptions, but they simply make your weapons charge faster.

Maybe it could be the lost shield of a once-great-knight who preferred charging his weapons to using regular attacks.

Or it could be the lost shield of a once-cute-kitten... Cute kittens need no explanations.

Nope.

It doesn't make sense to have a shield like that, then. And just a different Swiftstrike Variant? CTR and ASI are two completely different things, just as damage is. It would have to be a new shield. A new Swiftstrike variant right off the bat just wouldn't make sense, either.

By the way, cute kittens are not the answer to all your problems, nor are they valid arguments.

Logic + Video game = ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Now then, why can't we just split the Swiftstrike Buckler up into several shields? A shield that gives Swords ASI, a shield for Sword CTR, a shield for gun ASI, a shield for gun DMG, a shield for gun CTR, a shield for bomb DMG, a shield for bomb CTR? Gives OOO an opportunity to shift the balance of shields off of Swiftstrike Buckler, which is currently incredibly deceptive in its description.

Despite Chaos being master race, not -everyone- relies on it. Shocker, I know.

Whaa?!

:O!

But to be a little more honest, you should have put at least a little more thought into this.

For example, I made this in like 5 mins so don't judge me, but it's complete enough to at least seem a bit sensible (in my opinion): We get the Shield from Brinks as a 2* shield. It costs 25 Bark Modules to get it. It's got a kind of electrical look to it. It goes up to 4* from recipes you get at Basil, at which point it gives CTR Low. It has normal defense and some elemental defense. The description could be something along the lines of "A power-generating shield that allows oneself to excessively gain energy." I.E., it absorbs the "Energy" for the charge attack. It could have a Lightning resistance of Low or Medium. Could look like a Scale Shield, but with more of a "Quicksilver-y" type look to it.

Obviously I'm really bad at making things, but this seems like a good basis to build off of instead of... just what you have listed, not to sound rude or anything.

CTR isn't as valuable as you're making it out to be when Three Rings just plasters it all over Chaos like it's freakin' toilet paper.

B-but, dat defense doe.

Sad, but true. But, I have a good explanation for why it's like that!

>OOO's balancing team.

I-is that a good enough explanation? I feel as though it is, what with the Acheron and the Blitz and the SS vs Troika line and all that stuff....

Also, both the CTR and ASI trinkets give the same amount of bonus.
