I am a swordie who uses Hammer and flourish, since I use a controller and it makes it so easy to chain hammer combos. However, if I don't use my Voltedge or hammer, my damage during matches drops drastically. I have no problem shield cancelling brandishes, but shield cancelling flourish for me gets me nowhere. Could someone give me some pointers possibly on how to get better?
How to succesfully land flourish shots.
What your doing wrong is sheild canceling in the first place
Dude.
Flourish.
Just swing and enjoy people dying.
Quick tip, when using FF, don't try and hit when moving foward. Just move in, and as you dodge their painfully obvious swing, move back and THEN hit flourish. When you land the first hit, just move around them in a Crescent Moon pattern to hit them from the sides and back. Front is a bad place to be if you're not rocking GF or achy.
It's perfectly doable using a controller, depending on your control scheme maybe.
As for what Scirio says: there are better ways.
The crescent moon thing works great for mouse+keys, but since movement is your key strength when playing gamepad
try to rely more on timing their swings to move backwards and strike after each one.
It's more forgiving on your boost and catches people off guard since they're not used to it.
Easy way to stun lock people (I do it with ASI med, no fancy FF needed).
For consecutive hits you need to learn the timing of a FF. Each weapon has different timing for the triple perfect shieldcancel.
@Terrty: nub.
According to 98% of lockdown pros, AT is the perfect way to kill everything on your map with any weapon!
Since flourish is OP, it will kill even your teammates!
#damage
I dunno. I can shield cancel a brandish fine but when it come to a flourish I do like no damage.
If I understand your problem, you cant hit twice in a row because your final flourish activates invincible frames.
Solution: Wait/boost longer between your swings.
I can teach you an ironclad method which drains your boost but will leave your opponents staggered and locked in place.
However, it only works on one enemy at a time, you can use it for two but that's really risky since you have to know what to do when you're out of boost.
It's fairly new though, in fact I only came up with it yesterday, it has not yet failed me though.
Well, I learn how to have got it down now. I was able to take down 3 guardians down with A lvl 2 Valiance and lvl 8 thorn blade at once, because I have made a stun locking strategy of some sort. However, I can't perfect until I learn how to utilise my boost more efficiently.
Utilize your boost?
Pft, just drain the crap out of it and learn to dodge.
It takes exactly 4 seconds to recharge.
If you can't even dodge for 4 seconds without your boost, you might as well stop playing yo.
Pro's about draining your boost: you'll be forced to learn how to dodge, in order to dodge you're gonna have to learn how to predict, if you can predict stuff nobody can stop you.
So.
Drain that sh*t.
But, do 2 chaos clones, 1 skolver clone and two kat clones seem dodgeable to you without boost and dash? No. I don't think so. Not unless I am going full mode. And I started my Lockdown career a long time ago pulsar spamming. I am an expert in dodging. Just not in damaging or defending.
This thread would be graveyarded already if you just followed Son-Of-Hades instructions.
What u need is asi. But besides that is ur problem not landing hits? If so, don't spam the flourish swing randomly u gotta boost near him , AIM then swing. Easiest way to get actual hits IMO. Also, it ur fighting Nother guy with flourish try predicting at which area he is boosting towards and swing ahead of him. If ur fighting GF then trick him to combo( only if he's noob) then dash in and get a free hit. Finally, flourish works differently then brandish as they can hit from different distances. So don't go all up close with flourish imagine as if h were hitting him with the tip of ur sword. Btw aa is stupid but effective I never use aa but if u use it u can land a hit from miles away. So yeah. Btw I play mostly t2 I'm a dusker clone and there isn't much asi in t2
@Blueflood First of all, I want to become a very very good player, so doing that doesn't help, since I am doing no work, and just mashing 2 buttons. Second of all, I do not use AT and full combo the least I can, so I don't get called a noob, and third I don't have asi. I might start to get it now. You wouldn't imagine how hard it is to hit 20k with a 4* toothpick. Only did it once.
@Erctheepic Yeah I do need asi, but I don't want to be a clone. And I do use that strategy, but several people can predict me and say I am too predictable. I am trying to find a good strategy that won't fail me.
Hello guildie :3
Anyway, I am pretty sure you know how to shield cancel. What I think you mean is how to do rapid consecutive hits. The first thing you want to know is how different weapons work together. If you have a flourish and a gun, make it work. You have to set the stage for the fast attack.
On to actually doing the attack. Do the same thing you do with the brandish, it works. Another way to do this is press the attack button, press AND HOLD defend, and then do the next attack.
Other than that, I have no idea.
