If you don't pick up a mat, that a monster dropped... and you go to the next floor does it collect it, or no?

I've tried this one, and if you don't pick up the mat it will not be given to you.
never tried, but I'm going to say anything you don't pick up, you will not get as far as materials go. Similar to vials or hearts.
