I live in SEA and have played SK for a long time, with tons of delays and lags (mostly 2-3 sec delays) and i'd love to see a SEA server so that it's easier to play the game (trust me, walking into fire for 2 seconds w/o knowing it isn't fun) since they've got like, loads of money from players buying ce and sets 'n stuff.
seriously, anyone else having this problem? and want some new servers?

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

the problem is money, you need tons of money to run a server. OOO probably hasn't got enough.

Your Voltedge isn't safe.

We have plenty of servers. It is just that we have bad quality servers.

Might I suggest...

...moving the server instead of creating a new one?
Putting the U.S server on the East Coast is not the most ideal position since like 90% of the continent is to the west of the server. The average distance to the server is very large. Moving the server to somewhere like Chicago (no I do not live near Chicago; I live on the West Coast) would be most efficient imo.
Chicago is more centered on the North American continent and it happens to be one of the main hubs for internet traffic, which means ip routing should be easier.

I've noticed plenty of cases of 'lagspikes' that aren't even on my end. In other games, I don't get these 'spikes' in connection, but they happen regularly in SK. I remember a mod/dev saying there weren't any problems with the servers, which is extremely odd.

There are also optimization problems that cause minor freezing when a new model spawns, but that might be on my end. I'm not sure.

Havens & servers

I don't know if havens are different servers (like are haven 1 and haven 2 diffrent servers?) but if they are different, it means they have 500+ servers since i've been landed in a haven 599 or something around 500+ so if they have THAT much servers, why not move a few of them like Auto-Target suggested?
I have no idea whatsoever of how hard it is to move on server since i havn't studied about this yet though

It has to be some other problem than server quantity. When the lagspikes don't hit, my connection is very good.

auto target, you don't simply move a server, especially the one in the west coast cause OOO HQ is there. besides, it's not "moving" but "transferring all the connections issued to the server in the west coast into another server into east coast". if you don't wanna buy an ultra truck and move a building from west coast to east coast, at least. (btw, every time somebody says "move the servers", I think of springfield's plan b)
draco, heavens are not related to servers. we have 2 servers right now. heavens are related on how many players are on at a time, it seems.

I know that. I indirectly answered the question by answering another entirely.

@Thunder

You can most certainly "move a server" as in change the server on which you host your game. I never said it would be cheap, but it definitely beats the long term cost of maintaining two different servers when one would work just fine.
Last time I checked, OOO does not own the entire server building in VA. They probably have some sort of contract with Amazon in which they are allowed to run their software on the service provider's hardware. All they have to do is terminate the agreement with their current server station and hook up with a new one in some other location (the actual logistics are probably much more complex, but yeah).
Is it a huge hassle? Yes. Is it doable? Yes. Is it easier than running two servers simultaneously? Yes (well, legally idk). Does OOO think it's worth it? Nope.

Also, I wasn't aware of a server in the West Coast. I thought the only one in America was in Ashburn, VA.

The lag spikes that aren't on your end is not necessarily on the server's end. It's most likely somewhere in between. The main cause of latency is not the distance traveled (although it matters too), but the number of stops a packet has to make along the way. Information is passed along from server to server, so OOO could have a wicked awesome server and you can have a wicked awesome connection to your ISP, but the network that connects your computer to the OOO server could be horribly congested.
It's like a relay race. The more members you have on your relay team, the more likely that one of them will choke, slowing down the time for the entire team. It is completely possible that someone's connection to the server has to "run a longer race" but with much fewer "relay members" and they end up having a great connection. Whereas someone who is closer to the server can suffer worse connection because their data is being relayed through very inefficient servers.

if you try your internet connection on some sites, you'll see that servers flourish on the whole planet. in america alone there are quite a bit of servers; SK server is probably at San Francisco, near OOO HQ.
