I like it, hiss.
On the surface there's this happy cobblestone world populated by enigmatic birds and full of sunshine and fresh air and the slightly mysterious but friendly strangers, hiss.
Then there's evil monsters trying to summon an army of nightmarish behemoths.
Then there's gremlin civil war.
Then we find that the nightmarish behemoths the evil monsters are trying to summon are -us-. (Int: Arkus).
Then there's a coin that apparently tries to call knights into becoming the behemoths.
Then there's the barren halls of the candlestick keeps, the original halls of the Owlites. However, only feathers of them are found and the halls are lined with kat ghosts alone.
Then there's...Ghosts in the Machine....
And Vanaduke, whose army is undead.
Then there's The Apocrea, who apparently exist in another dimension that they can reach through. These creatures are sentient.
Then there's the Kat Hiss Cowl, that implies its likeness holder committed suicide.
Then there's dead knights in the clockworks.
Then there's the -swarm-.
... Something's going on hiss. This game is like peeling an orange and finding that it's actually bitter melon. The mood whiplash...
It gets darker and darker and darker, I think. Most recently we have the Apocrea, creatures of shadow and evil which consume your soul and drive you insane.
