Guardian Shield Bash

I was wondering if Three Rings could introduce a shield bash for guardians in LD.
There will always be a ton of strikers in a game, less recons, and almost no guardians.
I think if guardians had a shield bash, there would be more players playing it and enjoying it.
Also, a guardian in a team could be more usefull! Let's say we're in a teamfight, the guardian can just bash into them,
stun them, and teammates could start attacking them without having a problem.

I will be really happy if guardians can shield bash.

So, tell me what you think about it?

Hmm. Nope.

Nope.
Guardians are strong enough as is, they're just so rare because no one takes the time to learn how to be even half-decent with them. I've seen some damn good guardians, and they didn't cry about how bad the class was. Guardians are the main-stay of a team, being able to heal their team on cap points, and lock it down, so to speak. Stun is a rare status in PvP, let's keep it that way.

Shield bash is near useless in PvE, it would be even worse in LD. It's slow, predictable, and leaves you open since it's active animation so bye bye invincibility frames.

+1 to Dibs, there are a lot of tough Guardians out there who know how to use the shield and take a lot of work to kill. You just need to learn how to use the class to its advantage.

The shield is what really makes the guardian unique but like dibs said, it'd leave you open. I think It shouldn't loose as much shield HP if this happened. I do like the Idea none the less.

Nope.

To add on what I said earlier about Stun being a rare status, I'm going to take an example from Tier 3.

Guardian, Skolver Set, Gran Faust/Hammer.
Here's how I picture a battle going down.
1. Shield bash
2. If shield bash misses, jump around like an idiot or dash around with hammer like a derp until you can shield bash again
3. Once you've stunned the enemy, kill them. They can't do jack at that point anyway
4. Capture the point, repeating steps 1-3 on every new enemy that shows up
5. Win the game

And as stated above, shield bash is an active animation, so you lose all your i-frames.
We don't even need to go there.

The reason (at least how I see it) that OOO didn't allow shield bash in LD is that having a sure fire way to stun an opposing team 100% of the time (given that you can hit said player) would unbalance the game. If you have the accuracy to hit a majority of your bashes, then you would be given a guaranteed kill.

Ex:

Team 1 player bashes team 2 player

Team 2 player:
Ah! I can barely move! he says as he moves slowly

Team 1 player:
Ha Ha Ha! Naow I kehl u hard! he says as he lets off 2 sword swings, then bashes again

Team 2 player dies after a few hits
Fukōda! Why do I get stun locked?!

As you can see, it would not be pretty for the already unbalanced LD.

Anyone who does not know what Fukōda means should watch A Certain Magical Index

Nope, because the intended use of the Guardian shield is to protect your teammates, not spend on offensive abilities.
With Shield Bash added, this would promote the preservation of the shield by not bringing it up when it's needed.

+0.5, I guess.

This would allow Guardians to keep their enemies at bay by stunning them, but I have to agree with Hex on this part; it'll destroy the point of the shield in the first place, as well as drain 50% of your shield's power off the back, and it's already vulnerable enough as it is to all kinds of rofldamage from Skolvers and trinkets.

However, I would say the aura around the shield, when it is active, could create a weak knockback pulse that stuns enemies for a very short amount of time, and pushes them out if they try to get inside of it. This way, the enemies can get stunned long enough to be dealt with by teammates (assuming they're within your area at the time), and the Guardian can continue to help those around them.

Unless they implement a Shield Bash in Lockdown that turns the player into a locomotive and they pummel players off the map itself.

@ Cyberpony
The idea to give guardians auto stun with a raised shield would be more OP than a normal shield bash. All they would need to do is raise their shield for a split second, and an enemy would be stunned. Then the guardian could just go up and attack them with no fear of retaliation. Rinse and repeat, and you have an insta-kill move for guardians.

It would also allow guardians to lock down a point almost indefinitely, as all they would have to do is stand on a point, hold shield up and any approaching player would be insta stunned and swatted away like a fly.
