I've got way too many 5* mats in comparison to the other ones. See topic for question. Is it about bailing early, playing on a lower difficulty, or on a lower tier?
How do get more 3* and 4* Grinchlin Assault materials?

Difficulty
Difficulty seems to influence the mats.
Try Advanced mode.

Did some testing with guild, found mainly 4* mats and some 3*, with occasional 5* at Advanced difficulty. Normal provides 3 and 4, but in lesser quantities.
the higher the difficulty, the fewer gremlin peeballs are found. They seem to be replaced with useful mats.

I honestly don't know, but I'll be trying advanced mode later for them- once I find the trankets, I'll be wanting as many reskin mats as I can get, just in case.
I've only gotten the lower star materials from the first levels. Run it in full and take note of what star mats you get from which levels/areas?
