First of all, it is the first challenging content in a while. The only reasons things are hard is lag.
Second of all, you can get the gear you couldn't get in time now.
Third of all, defense is more valuable than offense now. Bring Swift-Strike Buckler and you are screwed. Bring Chaos you are screwed. I like this a lot.
Why the new danger mission was a BRILLIANT idea.
I brought Chaos to this mission instead of other gear because I felt as if I had to play defensively.
Any less than max damage and CTR, and I'd be unable to flip gremlins with my bombs.
So you are telling me, a challenge in SK must involve lag... that is bull... what happend to the promise of good puzzles, intresting level design and unique equipement? Don't give me that 'if you want it hard, you need more arena' crap, C42's arenas are very compact and simple but are just as challenging. And just becasue you threw in some respawning greavers, trolljan(WHAT IS trolljans doing in my winterfest?!) spike wall and shadow fire doesn't make it innovating, I wanted the level to be intresting but instead what I got was some cheap ice wheels, which they don't even have gaps between them? WHY?! The ones in FSC have gaps between them so why not this?
The interval between the wheel launch is already short enough and combine with the lag, I CP freeze on impact with the wheel and died before I could even raise my shield, does that sound like fun to you? And also, the final room was also cheap, the rocket sheel blow the radius twice before dissapearing and that is down right insulting to the first time player, 'so you think you shielded the rocket huh? Here is the second one, followed by the first :D'
SK is a good game, but boy o boy does it always stuff up its events, first is the apocrea and then the winterfest! I just can't have a single good event out of this game! I of playing somthing else, I hope impostoclaus burn in hell or get shredded into pieces by a horde grinchlins.
Still using Swiftstrike Buckler despite the claims that it's insufficient for the mission. Still surviving the mission with no sparks used.
Still not seeing the argument there. That being said, if you're able to avoid the status afflictions in the mission well enough, Chaos is a glass cannon that can provide a powerhouse that you otherwise wouldn't have with similar sets. So it's more like it shows who can do what with what they've got.
I love how people that has never lagged before cannot play with lag...
Look you have a 2 sec or .5 sec delays, you know it because of how many times you got a wheel to the face, then time it, go BEFORE, since you have a short delay, you can time that delay to have it go where you want at the right GAME time.
A lot of people play with lag regularly and can do SL UFSC with little to no spark of life. I played with 800 MS ping on LoL a lot due to my unstable connection and would have 8 SECONDS DELAY
DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG 8 SECONDS IS?
Well yeah, not that hard with little delay/lag. Get use to it, you will become better at timing
1/8 of a second is 12.5 milliseconds.
800ms = 0.8 seconds.
Edit: Oh hey you fixed your thing.
Wow. I only have 1 red bar but for some reason I didn't experience what so called "delay" and stuff. I guess I can consider myself lucky this time :s
When you're experiencing that kind of lag/delay, just look at your battle sprite, its current position is your real position server-side
Shouldn't 1/8 of a second be 12.5 centiseconds?
Anyway, I have a very constant 300ms ping, that means the time data is sent to the server, processed and get backs to my computer takes about 0.3 seconds. The problem with the new mission is that, there is a lot of annihilation going on in the Grinchlin Mission. The "Processing" time in the server increases, so in this sense, my ping ACTUALLY INCREASES. My ping is fluctuating as long as I'm in that stage 2 Final Room and the room before. It's worse than just having a constant 300ms ping. This is my only complain.
Basically with high ping you have a lot less time to react. If I see wheels rolling fully onto the screen, spike/status patches blinking, attack indicators appearing... it's already too late to dodge or shield. What I do is learn the patterns and get out of the way preemptively, and in the case of the wheels in this mission, move early. Latency fluctuates between games though, so I have to adjust the timing.
High pingers play a different game than everybody else does, so to speak.
Actually, chaos+black kat cowl has been my go to for the new mission, but swiftstrike I stay away from, as always. Aside from that, I would very much agree.
