Set up a system whereby either the Game Masters or players themselves giving ratings to players who post in the forums. It could be a 5-star system or something that would encourage helpful, informative, entertaining, well-written posts and discourage the creation of threads that are essentially trolling, whining, or of the time-wasting "made-you-look" variety. It would also allow casual forum readers to be able to instantly recognize the realtive value of a forums contributor.

I'm not a complete fan for rating people, may get stereotypes and more people would support higher-ranking people regardless of what they say than the others. It may also put stress on the high-ranking people.

This would not be good as a pure rating of a threat or comment, but I suggest to have something like a poll: People can vote for a thing if that threat is meant to be votable.
Otherwise it would simply cause too much hating if you get a low rating for your own post/threat.

Coming from a forum that used a rep system, I'm going to say -1. It boosts too much ego and people won't listen to others that have a... "lesser" rating.
Would boost too much ego for absolutely no reason.
As if we didn't have enough of them.
And you would see the likes of "I have 5* rating (or whatever rating) so obviously I know more about the game than you do"
I had to up my K/D ratio to 1.5 so that my post on Halo Reach could be taken seriously. I farmed Zombie mode and big team battle with a snipe, rockets and nades...
My opinions were the same with 1.2 K/D ratio (which is decent IMO), 1.5 K/D ratio and with 2.35 K/D ratio too... so bleh... I like the idea, but the repercution are not worth the time nor the effort
