Keiji's secret revealed. What I wish OOO did…

If OOO asked us players if we liked what updates they want to make, Spiral Knights would be perfect.

Example: "This is Nick. Today, we're thinking of bringing back Mist Energy and elevator prices." Players: "No! Horrible idea!"

Right now, OOO wouldn't have cared and then straightaway would've brought ME back. But, if they asked us players for permission … that would be amazing. Of course, the developers should make updates that players WANT.

pas si simple

It's not really that black and white, though.

We players are fickle. We have (very) different opinions, and often the old players will heatedly argue against things that new players will want. (For example - imagine if they said they were debating bringing back Red/White/Black Rose Regalia promos. New players would love it, but some old players would quit entirely.)

The test server was a really great way to share content with players while taking in feedback, but that seems to have slowed a bit... and a lot of new features continue to be added without any testing there, or player feedback.

Anyway, it is what it is.

my 2 cents

@Glad

You do know who Keiji Inafune is? He's the creator of Dead Rising 2 and graphic model for the serie Megaman and Onimusha...

Have you seen his resume on wiki? it's amazing... So many games he worked on... he's totally not in the same league as OOO dev... and it's quite normal... being in the business for 20+ years and being part of it....

I'm well aware of that,

I'm well aware of that, Shamanala… how do you think I found the video?

Keiji made Comcept because of the concept of video gaming. He left Capcom because they worry about business/profit. A big exposure to this is Capcom canceling Megaman Legends 3. When Keiji left, the soul of MML 3 was lost. Why? Well, Capcom wanted to make more money, so they tossed the MML 3 out the door, and then started working on a sequel…

Right now, Keiji is working on Mighty No. 9… using fans of Keiji's opinions and ideas.

BTW, Starlight-Pear: That's why there's voting. If a majority say yes, then yes. If no, then no.

I still think that Nick

I still think that Nick listens to us 'in his own way', but he does

Did we want health bar for Bosses? OOO did it
Did we want pets for the game? OOO did Battle Sprites
Did we want more challenge? OOO did Danger Missions
Did we want EVEN more challenge? OOO did elite mode
Did we want bring back monsters of the beta? OOO brought back the Ironwood Sentinel and the Tortodrone (ok, it is sleeping/dead in the scenario rooms, but I'm 90% that it will back in the new Rank Missions as a mini boss)

The only thing that i miss nowadays is the lack of feedback between players and Game Masters... Just compare the amount of GMs posts between 2010/2011 and 2013...

Nick and his trousers.

Nick's too busy watching Netflix in his knickers. He doesn't need us anymore, he has money, his girlfriend, and a Nintendo Wii U. He's been playing Super Mario 3D World with his girlfriend and Daniel. We've become nothing more than a paycheck for Nick and the Puzzle Pirates staff.
