Greavers are broken. No, not in the sense that they are a challenging, difficult enemy. The sense that from behind a wall, they have ghost-range on their mist cloud that inflicts their status. Not only that, the status mist can inflict status on you from behind the wall. I vaguely remember other enemies being able to damage through walls, but I'm certain Greavers have much more misleading range.

In addition, the status mist is incredibly difficult to see, and can hit you from further away than the actual graphic, even when taking latency into account. Greavers can behave exactly the way they do now, but their status mist is just broken.

I get a feeling the mist is the only elite part of Greavers.

Really, Greavers would be no problem to fight at all if it wasn't for the mist. I haven't seen the status get inflicted to anyone behind walls yet but I would definitely agree that the mist needs to be a lot more noticeable. I love a challenging fight, but can't stand an unfair one.

Fighting Greavers that can inflict stun or shock is horrible. In tight spaces it's a tragedy all because I can't see a stupid cloud.

+1??

I can concur that they can hit through walls, they can even hit through mist gates.
The fact that you can still get the status even after it looks like the mist has gone away is twice as annoying.

Definitely either need to have their mist range nerfed, or it needs to be more visible.

Mist more visible.
Either that or give the mist attack to a new enemy. The way I see it, Greavers are way more mobile than Chromalisks, have a more powerful area-denial status-inflicting attack, and that's not including the fact that it's not even their primary ability.

Oho, or make the mist more visible (I feel confused when I get lit on fire or frozen out of nowhere), and then give the mist to EVERY ENEMY!

Or just a few.

Mist is too hard to see and clips through walls/barriers.

Dude they are shadow type, and a look, bring shadow gear and to end their attack, shoot them with a gun. I use valiance, one of my top handy guns.

I can verify that their mist cloud works through walls (easy test: save the winterfest: greaver behind a force barrier).

I can't remember ever getting damage through walls, but I also never tested it. However, I remember pretty good the times when all Monsters could harm you through walls and gates - pretty annoying.

Lichen Colony earth spikes can damage you through blocks, destructable or not, but I don't know what else they can penetrate.
Lumbers can dish out knockback through walls.
Despite the fix that stopped Pyro's flamethrower from firing when too close to a wall, it's still possible to ignite people through spawn gates
Jarate does this too.

It makes sense in the case of Lichen Colonies because the spikes go under the ground.

But the greaver mist doesn't look like it should be able to hit things that mist bombs cannot.

Yeah the Mist has afflicted me a few times from behind a barrier or whathaveyou. I more often get affected by it in Arenas because I can't see it and walk straight into it.

While we're on the subject of monsters having unfair advantages; Gremlins, Scuttlebots and Mechknights can land hits on you from behind the switch-walls at Roarmulus Twins if you're right up against the wall.

Lumbers can also cause their usual knockback from behind an unbreakable block but without any of the damage. Best demonstrated at the Royal Jelly Palace Garden of Goo, left key door.
