What is better for a team, a specialist who perfects one skill or an adaptable person with multiple skills(who only does each skill "good").

I believe that specialist is better, since six specialists are arguably better than six all-arounders in a 6v6 lockdown game. The six all-arounders may have adaptable skills, but the specialists are able to do the skills in the best possible way.

I really want to see the opinions of the lockdown community. What do you peeps think?

specialists

Specialists in particular formats of engagement (I.e. Can use essentially one gun type and maybe some bombs effectively/ striker only/ capper & decapper) will win when there is a balance in the specialties.. If they have dmg ftw strikers only and nobody is really good at holding a point (staying on it and delaying a response team) then the all-rounders ideally should overtake if they use their heads.

A team of smart, tactical and practical all-rounders however, will eliminate a specialist squad any day as long as they can follow the rules of area denial. Simply because a smart all-rounder will use their opponent's weak points. (See also dmg ftw striker will always give chase to a potential kill rather than cap).

For RLD, I'd take the specialists because in spite of lacking effective communication they can learn who to go with and who not to. But in GLD the all-rounder forces will take the cake.

Should also be noted that

Should also be noted that even if the all-rounders are good at what they do, a team of specialists actually working together (rare, I know) can shut down a push pretty well. On top of that, assuming that knowledge is roughly equal between a team of all-rounders and a team of specialists, it really comes down to execution on both parts to determine who would come out on top.

To that end, being able to control the pace of the fight is just as important as the area denial that was mentioned as well. In fact, they both kind of go hand-in-hand in the sense that one will inherently follow the other and are almost interchangeable in most cases.

It depends on the specialist.

It depends on the specialist. In my case, I consider myself a sword specialist. Usually when up against an all-arounder, AKA a hybrid, I normally have trouble combatting the person's gun. In contrast, a gun specialist should have no problem when up against an all-arounder/hybrid. Idk how well I explained it but yeah..

When you say all-around, do you mean specialists who equip hybrid load outs and out of nowhere lose skills with their specialist area?

If no, then specialist. Because you said the all-arounders were only "good".
