I was thinking about this concept last night. What if there were health bars in the Social Tab for your guild members on missions depicting how well or how poorly they were doing? It wouldn't have to be some big complicating flow chart or anything, just a small gauge that pops out next to their name when you put your cursor on them. That way if they need help and their party isn't full you can go help them. I believe this would be a big help to newer users in the long run. Thoughts?
Health Gauges in the Social Tab
I'd find it better if you had a hotkey that sent out an SoS and other players could join your party from a "SoS board" in Haven. (Have a limit to how often an SoS could be sent so it doesn't get abused)
Sort of like a Party Finder but not as terrible and it has a model in town which visibly flashes when new messages are received.
Farewell, citizens! The law requires me elsewhere!
/me flies off
/e goes into this thread to look for the OP's repl-
/e sees Hexzyle randomly flying in the air, saying something about the law.
But...but...the laws are stupid. Isn't there one saying you can't push a moose off a cargo plane in Alaska?
But yeah, an SoS thing would be nice, but no flashes in case you have epilepsy. We're aware!
With the chance that someone could pull out a Nitronome at any time, who the heck with epilepsy plays this game anyway?
Blind ones? Duh.
{But I-}
{How can-}
[Shhh...let him have his moment.]
Just because your health is low doesn't mean you need help. I personally often find myself with low health, and yet I hardly ever die. If they really need help, all they need to do is tell you in guild chat.
The game would also have to pull that information in real time from the server/instance/whathaveyou (not sure what to call it) that they are on, meaning that more data is being run in your client unnecessarily. It's the same concept with not being able to inspect people that are not in the same area as you.
