Is it still possible to get the Obsidian Blade (maybe next Dark Harvest Festival?)

The haven event alchemy machine keeps all the old festival items, so I'm guessing there's going to be a new event next Dark Harvest that will grant the Obsidian materials. Or is it simply for those who got the materials but could not craft the sword? I have a Silent Nightblade at L10, and I really like the Obsidian Edge but i want to know if I actually have a chance at getting it. Getting a 5* Shadow sword isn't a high priority for me right now, so I have a bit of time -but I have one and only one Silent Nightblade, so I don't want to regret making an Acheron.

Next year

As of right now, it isn't possible to get any Obsidian weapons. You'll have to wait until next year to get another shot at it during the Dark Harvest Festival Apocrea Event.

Either way, Acheron is better than Obsidian Edge because the ridiculous damage output > strong poison spreading in most situations, so there's nothing wrong with making an Acheron unless you don't have radiants to heat it to Lv 8+. Consider making a second Silent Nightblade for Obsidian Edge; since shinings are so common these days, you can pop out a lot of Lv 10 4* weapons with ease.

I just don't have the orbs

I do have a lot of sparks though, and I can farm FSC. But I'm focusing on my Blizz/Blaze/Boltbrands right now. So another Silent Nightblade will take a long time, especially since I can't take it to FSC. Eh well, I have a year.

nobody knows, but probably, but

Unless an employee of Three Rings chimes in, nobody on these forums knows whether the Apocrea will return. The existence of the alchemy machine suggests to me that the Apocrea will return. Also, when Three Rings takes the effort to make new content, they want to use that content repeatedly. But this is only speculation.

Shadowstarkirby raises an important point: Obsidian Edge is no better than Acheron, and is arguably worse. So there is no practical reason to wait for the materials for Obsidian Edge. I don't see how you would regret getting Acheron (unless it is nerfed in the near future). But wait if you like, of course.

No Mr Bopp, I expect you to die

There is actually confirmation(well, if OOO thinks logically) of the Apocrea returning: the obsidian materials are still in my inventory as well as the Apocrean sigils which do not have an expiration date. The fact that the obsidian weapons are in the special alchemy machine gives us more proof.

Yes, technically it is possible to craft the obsidian weapons if you saved the special materials needed to craft(which for some reason, I did). They're craftable from the special purple alchemy machine.

And yes, the Acheron is the best sword in game, superior to obsidian edge, but the obsidian edge still has Acheron's old damage, with poison(and a cool/creepy charge animation).

Sup +1 to troll

I agree with troll because the obsidian edge's charge attack is basically acheron's charge attack but with a better animation

and both the weapons suit for different people for e.g : acheron is a full shadow base dmg dealer i recommend it for chargers, rushers etc and
for OE ( obsidian edge ) i recommend it to tacticians and people who take there time to clear enemy instead of charging in battle because OE's poison effect can stop enemy's from healing but even with low base dmg OE is still a good sword and u cant compare acheron and OE together cuz they're both good

Acheron : High shadow base dmg but no effects

Obsidian edge : Mid shadow base dmg but with high poison effect

sadly for me cuz i uninstalled the game earlier on so i missed the Apocrea event so if u missed it u could : make a Acheron if u can use it good or u can wait ( if u have the time and temper) and make a OE

agree

I agree that our ability to keep Apocrea materials is strong evidence that the Apocrea will return. But we have no idea when.

@Kirito-Bs: I agree with your

@Kirito-Bs: I agree with your assessment of the Obsidian Edge. The poison is especially handy if you don't have max damage on your sword--you may not have killed the enemy anyway with the Acheron, and healers are now doing damage for you.

Really

Did you guys not read the News Mail during Apocrea? It said that to get all weapons of Apocrea, it would take a couple events to actually get them all(Paraphrasing). Also, if the Katostrophe event continued, why not Apocrea?

^Just because Nick says something doesn't mean that it's true in any way. It could mean that Apocrea will return after the game fails and is hacked onto a bootleg server- like PSO.
