an ability to break down equipment into alchemy orbs would be useful. if i want to replace my weapon, i could break down my current weapon into 3 alchemy orbs so that i wouldn't have to buy or hunt for them.

Maybe we can also break Skolver coat to 20 caliburs.

Because unbinding and selling on the auction house is annoying.

Unless you can spare the energy without it hindering you.

The 4th wall shall be shattered!!!

How about instead we turn the equipt into the mats used to make the armor?

We should be able to break apart or items but there's a BUT since you could craft and break items so you could have better UVs and that would unbalance the game.

Also we should be able to

Also we should be able to sell the orbs back to the system for energy, then sell the energy back to OOO for profit!

It ain't gonna happen.

This could potentially ruin the energy market.

>Buy Ancient Plate Shield from Brinks
>Break it down to 3 Eternals
>Technically got 3 Eternals for 30k

Same goes for all the other Orbs, too.

I make you black, bluue and red all over

You couldn't do this when weapons were made with energy. Why would you be able to now?

A possibility is the "Break down your WEAPONS and GEAR!" give just one orb instead of three.
It could help when you found eventually a Skolver Cap, for example, and don't want it. So you break it.
Ops, there is a problem: People could buy 2* things AH, break it and got a lot of 2* orbs.
The idea don't worked well.

With work it might work

The downgrades go through Vise
You get 3 bound orbs of alchemy, and it costs 75% of the cost of the 3 orbs from the supply depot would cost in energy (I.E. 680 energy to break one 5* item into 3 eternal orbs) and 25% of crafting cost in crowns (I.E, 1250 crowns for a 5* item). This would work as a crown and energy sink, and encourage players to only break down items they don't want and they plan to turn into something else. If the costs seem a bit high, maybe some complimentary heat crystals of the star level of the item could be thrown in(At max, 10 crystals, also bound).

Going even further, perhaps the outcome of the items would be determined by heat level. If it's under level 5, the knight would get one orb of alchemy for 80% of the cost. At level 5 they would get 2 orbs for 90% of the cost. At level 10 they would pay full price but get 3 orbs. If the heat level percentages don't seem right, then make them all cost the same but the number of orbs remain, to encourage players to heat their items. This would (hopefully) prevent players from buying items off the auction house and turning them into orbs - they would need to heat the item, which would get them into the Clockworks and playing the game, to turn them into something worthwhile, and even then they're still paying to dismantle the items. The "time vs money" argument should still be in play.

The most effective way to get orbs is still through either running arcade or buying them from the supply depot. This suggestion could work if it meets that criteria. Also, everything that is broken down must be character bound.
