Guild LD tournaments hosted by OOO every saturday/sunday night, where teams are organized into brackets of 2, single elimination, and the teams that make it to semis/ finals are eligible for great prizes. Or if not, at least let the players set up tournaments themselves.

You'd think that after 2 years, OOO would decide to implement a mechanic like this, especially since so many ppl have already asked for it...

The problem with organized LD events like this is that teams would be unbalanced since all the participants would most likely be strangers, and therefore not work well together. To solve this, you could just make it for GvG instead, but there are not enough experienced LD guilds out there for this to take on.

If a 1 v 1 LD mode was ever added though, this would be great. The mode would have to be considerably balanced though, so it wouldn't just be a clone of a regular LD match with 4 people on a team doing sh!t.

Also make the rewards not be something significant, since it will be given away each week. Maybe make it a costume (SUPER BRAWL CROWN RETURNS) or just a flat cash value that would be added to the guild treasury (only if it's GvG. A special statue decoration that goes into the Guild Hall would also be nice).

^ that's what i said

the thing is that there is no reward for being good at LD, except for bragging rights. How about some prizes. :3

If the tourneys were only held once a month, or bi-annually then there could be possibilities for greater prizes. It would also allow people to organize into more specialized teams and prepare for it. You could allow players to choose their teams without having to be in the same guild, as this would allow the pro players that are not part of pro guilds to join.

I'm tired of playing LD and

I'm tired of playing LD and only getting tokens and a pathetic payout. The past week i tried doing something new. Giving 10k to the person that beat me in dmg; surprisingly everybody tried their best and Lockdown was fun again, i wish OOO did the same by hosting tournaments, 1v1s, and more importantly a way to make crowns/ce in lockdown.

Today I played random team LD and someone asked me to cap in team chat. I suddenly realized I had no reason to.

That needs to change. Either make the leaderboards worth something, make the rewards worth something, or make playing the objective more fun.

Because the Jemps and 21rs will ruin SK forever.

@Scirio
Super brawl was the predecessor to LD. I'm not sure about the gameplay mechanics of it, since I wasn't playing back then (I think it was either part of the preview event, or it was never officially added to the game and people just found out about it from looking at the game files) But there is a Wiki page about the crown.

@Xtweeterx
Firstly, there are plenty of other guild who are just as good as Jempire and 21, if not better. Secondly, if people could form guild-less parties then you would find groups of people from all guilds to come up with powerhouse match-ups; it would be more about skill and how you play with your party, and less about who comes from the best guild. Thirdly, last time I checked SK didn't rely mainly on LD for it's content so even if it was broken that would not ruin the entire game.

OK, Super Brawl seems pretty sweet, although I don't understand the purpose of the game. How do you win, just kill people? And it's a bit sad that every seemed to be using a shadow weapon but that's on a player side problem, not the game itself suppose. I'd love to see that back in game after some tweaks.

no, they didnt use shadow weapons only, they used the strongest weapons at the time, that is GF and it's curse chance. in today's SB, everyone would use acheron.

EXACTLY. There is a reason why there arn't many serious Lockdown players, because there isn't any way to make crowns.

sentenza and blackhawk were used for split damage, not for attacking. they were much more effective in PvP when they were split piercing/shadow.

Ah, see since I wasn't playing much back then I completely forgot that Sent and AP were split. Makes sense now.

Good idea BUT because Jemps and other dominator guilds,it'll ruins SK PVP Community forever.

I prefer Super Brawl than LD and Bombing.

By "serious" you mean people that don't go in with full Skolver and FFs and DAs/GFs Polarises or Shivs?

I believe better rewards would further instill that "need to win," which would invite less variety in LD matches and a lovely spamfest from our 'favorite' guilds would follow. And if I am reading the OP's 4th post correctly, it would seem people who are not in a 'major' Lockdown Guild are not 'serious Lockdown Players.' First of all, it's a game. Games are not meant to be taken seriously. Secondly, I can be flying solo or be in a small-time Guild and still be a 'serious' Lockdown Player that does very well at it.

And the problem is, nothing would change. The incredibly 'friendly' dominating Guilds would simply take the prize every time for the most obvious reasons.

@ Mushy-Bucket

The better rewards would onlt be tied to the tournaments, which will only occur sporadically. It's not like it applies to all LD matches. I also suggested that teams cna be made from non-guild members, meaning that you don't need to be in a big time guild to participate (however runnig in an all guild team would do well to promote your guild if you won).

And there is an easy way to stop the usual guilds from winning: make teams comprised of a multitude of guilds with players of an increased play level. That way these makeshift teams could possibly topple the guild giants and tournaments if they play well enough.

Simplest solution: Don't let guildmates be on the same team. That would screw any chance of the big-time guilds dominating yet another thing and getting rich off of it.

But then people would complain that they have to quit a guild just to be in the same team as their friends, as lots of people only associate with their guild mates and therefore would not know anyone to form a team with.

Make the teams like RLD then? That'd give the best chance of the system not being possible to take advantage of. It's the same reason a gym teacher would pick the teams themselves, because if it was up to the students, all of the best players would put each other on one team, effectively screwing the other team's chances of winning, let alone having fun. It would be one thing if this had bad rewards like RLD/GvG, but if the rewards are like the OP described, then the system should be as incorruptible as possible.

That's the thing though, since these are sporadic tournaments, you would think that players would use any way possible to win. If you are put on a random team for a tourney that only comes around once a month, what happens if you get a crappy team? Wait for next month? There wouldn't be any clear way to show which players are the best, as it would be more a game of who has the best luck to get the pro players on their team. Tourneys like this are meant to show who is the best player, not to give out prizes randomly; the prizes are irrelevant and can be reduced if you really don't like it.

If you want to have fun playing LD, do a random game that can be conducted at any time. Leave the limited tourneys to the pros that actually care if they win.

When you say teams like

When you say teams like empire and 21 would dominate, just take out a Polaris from the equation. And the very reason why there arn't tons of competitive LD guilds is because there arn't any sufficient prizes out there to raise the competition in the lockdown environment. Once you put big prizes for the best LD guilds/players, there will be many new serious guilds and players.

Super brawl was removed for good reason.

It was too unbalanced because Grand faust was too overpowered and everyone just ran away from it. So essentially, Grand Faust killed Super brawl. And I loved superbrawl but, now it would be extreemly unbalanced. More than lockdown. Unless the maps are twice the size of our lockdown maps, Super brawl isn't coming back. Sorry.
