Okay, so I realized something last night. The Wiki says that the Gremlins dissasemble worlds and scatter them across Cradle, right? Well, they HAD to do it somewhere. That somewhere would be a Decon Zone. Oh, and those big gaping holes in Decon Zones? Well, I assumed they were originally just for display, but then I realized what they were-dents made by planets put in those Decon Zones. That would also explain the vast amount of Gremlins and Mecha Knights(Gremlin bodyguards) in them. Oh, and the name "Deconstruction Zone". So, can I get any official response as to whether I am correct here or something? Feel free to give your thoughts.
Decon Zone Theory
If those lowly Gremlins are capable of tearing apart entire worlds, I'd hate to see what King Tinkinzar does in his spare time.
Meanwhile, at the Legion of Doom:
Tinkinzar: Oh Pinkie Pie, you are so random!
--
You're right, you don't want to see what he does in his spare time...
Tinkinzar's a BRONY :O ?! I must find him and geek out about ponies with him :D !!
Also, if the gremlins dissassemble PLANETS in those holes, then they must be fkkkin huge.

If you reach the core, one of the NPCs there pretty much flat-out tells you that there's no way the Gremlins did all of this.
I remember reading somewhere that the decon zones are for disassembling machines to rebuild. That's why you sometimes find de-powered Mechaknights that you can activate with Energy-- they were slated for recycling/salvage but you can power them up to fight for you.
(Notice that the "hammer" used by the melee gremlins is actually a large, backward wrench-- and the "wand" held by the menders is a wrench clasping a Luminite crystal in its jaws. The Gremlins are machinists and engineers.)
Aw, snap. Well, there goes a theory. But why the giant holes in floor?
And roads to nowhere?
Gremlins tinker with and destroy/rebuild various parts of the world. In some ways I don't think they actually have a plan, they're just doing what they're told. I always saw Decon Zones as being a level in the process of being dismantled for parts, hence the holes and such.
...most worlds, which have been brought to Cradle, torn apart by Gremlins, and reassembled for their own purposes...
...the Deconstruction Zone is a behind-the-scenes area of the Clockworks used by Gremlins.
So whaddaya say to that?
I was going to tell you to just check the description of the level when hoovering above the level icon in the game map.
Then did it myself and noticed the levels don't have descriptions anymore save for sub-towns.
I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION.
