Yes, We must have more rare equipment, kthxbai.

Now that i diverted the weak-minded, down to seerus buisness /e rubs hands.
Firstly the rare equipment are droped by :

Nature's Cub, has a 5% chance of spawning when breaking bushes. It's a green wolver leaving leaf trails where ever it walks/dash/telport.
Mailite, has a 6% chance poofing when a mailbox is broken. A cute devilite with a mailbag and hat, throws sharp letters at you.
Gravely Robbed, when breaking a green tombstone 7% of the time it will spawn, a zombie with a miner's hat and a shovel.

Now to the rare drops:
the nature's cub has a 10% chance of dropping a 4* elemental poison bomb, Canopy Buster, after the explotion leafs will linger around. It's has the same stats as DBB, but slightly weaker due to poison. Bazil will the recipe to craft the 5* version of it the Lothlorien.

Mailite on the other hand will drop a 4* 4 shot blaster-like peircing gun by the name of Fast Sender 10% chane thou, it's a blaster with a tray/bucket files with mail ready to be shoot out with force enought to give a nasty paper cut. 5* recipe of it , Coureir of Pain or a feiry version of it, Penny Black.

Robbed will drop with a 10% chance a green-black(resembling the tomb) troika dealing peircing, dubed the Grave Digger, it has more damage due to the lack of statuses, the 5* Fossor recipe can be found at bazil's.

That its all, thanks for reading thus far.
TL;DR : /e clears throat, M@orz munt3rz taht drup l33t l00t, GG.

I make you black, bluue and red all over

The chances for the drops/monster spawns are so low that no one would ever find them; I'm not certain but I think even Dark Fang shield has a higher chance than that to drop.

Drops rates aside, which can be tweaked later, I like the idea of having more rare weapons. As long as they are actually usable endgame though, unlike Dark Fang which stops at 4*.

The weapons, however, are a bit unoriginal. That's not to say they are bad, per say, but I'd like to see a new kind of weapon and not just a slightly altered version of old ones. It would be like Apocrea all over again. I can't think of any good new weapons myself, however, so I can't really fault you for that.

Bottom line, it's a nice idea but it needs work. Make the weapons unique and fix the drop/spawn rates and it'll be perfect.

needs MOAR work?

Well the idea to make the drop rate fix is either make it drop 100% from the rare mobs, that or an even better idea:

Danger mission arn't they a pain to finish? Well we can fix that by making it drop Danger tokens! that then can be used to but said rare weapos from OP!!!!

and to the problem of uniqueness (which i really press on these part), i 'gravely' aoplogies. Speaking of grave why not start with Fossor :
Basic: the regular 2 swing slashes (wait for it)
Charge: the weilder swings the sword upward dealing damage with minor knock back follow by an arc of spikes merging in front of the user (2 block radius, 50 degree angle)

Fast send: fast 4 shots that arc in diffrent directions (i mean who could trow paper perfectly straight)
Charge: shoots all 4 shot at once (first shotgun-like piston would bring quite the variety)

Lothlorien: a troika-like charge? where a first have of explosion deal minor damage and poison (not always) the targets then a 2nd blast rises up (with leaves bursting every where) dealing the rest of the damage.

How do I what do? /watch?v=hT_nvWreIhg

Few things.
1. What if someone just grinds low tier areas to try and get the weapons? That doesn't seem fair that someone in tier 1 has the same, if not better, odds of getting one of these 4 star drops from the mobs as that of someone in tier.
Solutions: Make it the weapons are only dropped in tir- tier 2 has very low odds of dropping while in tier 3 has slightly higher, but still low odds.
2. Odds of things dropping seem a tad high. Maybe lower to around 1.5 for tier 2 and 5 for tier 3?
3. I felt your idea of the mail gun was both a bit cool and a bit... odd.
Concept art pic 1 Concept art pic 2
So yeah, how about we change the 4 star to a rough, aged badly, looking gun named the "spam mail" that has shadow damage. It could be made into a 5 star shadow gun that is cleaned up, the words fixed to not be such a blur, devilite emblem fixed, colors restored, ect. named the "Silk Express". Or it could be made into a normal (or piercing) damage gun called the "Spiral Orders". The color scheme could be grey mail container (purple thing in pic), white gun part, blue letters (example of letters on left side of first pic) and grey handle with the horse emblem of the spiral order.

I'll draw up concept art for the other weapons and monsters latter as it is late as I am typing this.

4. You didn't design charge attacks for 2 thirds of the weapons so here's my idea for charge attacks for them:
"Spam Mail"/"Fast Sender"
a. Player has a their dash avalible evey 2 seconds for the next 10. If the player switches weapons or gets hit during these 10 seconds than the buff ends. During the buff time they also gain an attack speed bonus every time they dash that lasts for 3 seconds. This can stack to maximum! The timmer on the attack speed bonus is reset after each dash. The player can attack (with the mail gun only obviously) while dashing. The charge time to keep things fair should be at least 5 seconds, if not 7 or 10 and the player should move at gravity bomb charge speed.
This is to imitate the fact devlites move around a lot.
b. The player just does the Antigua charge that fires a holographic pit boss with the last shot instead of a burrddd. (@ THREE RINGS, DON'T PICK THIS ONE, IT IS LAME)

"Grave Robber"
a. The player takes this kind of stance and stabs the sword into the ground. This causes many cracks ,similar to those on the graves, to burst forth, pushing back and damaging enemies. If it is the 5 star version skeletal arms should pop out as well through the bright green cracks.
The "blast radius" if you will, should be as large as the Deconstructor radius .
b. Torika charge attack but spooky spooky green crack *rolls eyes* (@ THREE RINGS, DON'T PICK THIS ONE, IT IS LAME)

not so fast kiddo.

About the fast sender: urm what? your dash cooldown is reduce to 2 secs for 10 times? and you get bufffed? why not just make the sender faster so the buff is not needed. and maybe about the charge why not make the player focus on a point (say 5 block infront of it) and just shoot in that point while dashing side to side (say antigua charge minus the bird but with more movement)

And no, the grave robber shall not have a sword-like-bomb charge, you can't do that remember what happen to the gun-like-bomb who's name i shall not speak of (/e sniffles)? why not just make it have that but only in a 50 degree angle infront (like i mentioned ._.)

Btw what about the canopy buster? You have no opinoins on that, you must be a wolver clone!

anyhow, I Have Pictures!

EDIT: links, we're bugging me

Ugh, that's not rare at all. What's the point of rares if they're not rare? I have no idea what the drop rates were before Mastereeve said what he said, but for comparison, the Impostocube spawns in the place of a regular Jelly with a 0.1% chance, and drops the Toupees and Dapper Combos with a <10% chance and there's still lots of those floating around.

Let's say a Wolver's Den has roughly 50 bushes.
With a 5% bush spawnrate that means you've got:
8% chance of finding none (0% chance drop)
So that's a 92% chance of finding at least one:
20.2% chance of finding exactly one (2% chance drop)
26.1% chance of finding exactly two (4.9% chance drop)
22.0% chance of finding exactly three (6% chance drop)
13.6% chance of finding exactly four (4.7% chance drop)
6.6% chance of finding exactly five (2.7% chance drop)

So every Wolver's Den run you do, you have a 20.3% chance of obtaining a Canopy Bomb.
That's a flipping lot of Canopy Bombs on the Auction House by the end of the week after the patch. Rare enough for ya?

The Mailite is a bit more reasonable, but still too common.
Let's say there's roughly 5 mailboxes per Devilish Drudgery.
With a 6% mailbox spawnrate that means you've got:
73% chance of finding none (0% chance drop)
23% chance of finding one (2.3% chance drop)
3% chance of finding two (0.6% chance drop)

So every Devilish Drudgery run you do, you have a 2.9% chance of obtaining a Fast Sender. In a party of four players, that's a 11.1% chance someone is going to pick one up.

And finally the Gravely Robbed.
Let's say there's roughly 20 breakable tombstones per Graveyard.
With a 7% spawnrate that means you've got:
23.4% chance of finding none (0% chance drop)
76.6% chance of finding at least one.
35.3% chance of finding exactly one (3.5% chance drop)
25.2% chance of finding exactly two (4.6% chance drop)
11.4% chance of finding exactly three (3% chance drop)
3.6% chance of finding exactly four (1.2% chance drop)

That totals up to a 12.3% chance of obtaining a Grave Digger per Graveyard run.

Honestly I'm not a fan of rare items. I like the idea of having them, but I don't like the idea of having to grind forever to get them. Grinding for a rare item isn't playing to have fun, its working at something in your free time.

But that's why these sorts of "passive rares" are the best. They're not locked to a particular mission or event, so you'll get them eventually through normal play.

Unless it's something creezy rare like the Darkfang Shield, but that's a novelty item anyway.

Yeah, I'm fine with things like True Love Locket being a rare-ish drop, but Darkfang Shields are nigh unobtainable... and then you've got a bunch of goofballs running around with them, acting like they're some kind of big shot. At least I've seen people get True Love Lockets, those aren't out of our reach... if you play enough you'll get one eventually. But Darkfang? No.

And giving them unique-ish stats? That'd be awful.

Having them be uncommon is more likely

If the weapons will be functionally different from other weapons, then they should be uncommon rather than rare. The percentages Hexzyle gave are rather reasonable for drop rates (except for that bomb), and especially since they aren't limited to certain timeframes. One bad thing is the fact they start at 4*. At least starting at 3* and dropping in tier 2 would be better, and having a lower chance to get a higher grade item from them in higher tiers.

Special enemies should also have boosted health and perhaps a limited time frame they stay alive so that their drops are a reward. Having them be common would be great if their item drop table was similar to humbug hats dropping from grinchlin stalkers.

When all these are released, there should be a box promo where you unbox one of the weapons at its lowest star rank, and perhaps some confetti and a costume. They would still be free to obtain via the clockworks, but you could take the easier route and buy a box and hope you get the item you want.

hexzlye, the wise one, has spoken

Actually i knew that there are more bushes per lvl than anything. I was being selfish for my kin, OOO can do it for swordies why can't I!

But vendetta aside, maybe make all rare mobs follow the current exsisting rarity, 1%, but maybe the cub 0.2% due to the bulk amount of bushes...

and maybe limit the weapons from dropping only at T3 that or add 2 and 3* version of it. @Fangel, do you know how hard is it to kill a wolver in T3 as a gunner, my alt would know. Maybe you could buy a box and get a random chance of getting random weapons (the rare ones) asumming OOO can come up with more rares than me if not one could easily get what one desires making a 'Pay 2 Win' senario (like when Och wasn't buyable via ce).

@Fehzor, maybe a slight advantage would make it worth while for our fellow grindy/lucky knights that actually find it rather then auctioning it for ridicule prices. maybe, debatable

I make you black, bluue and red all over

I am posting now to apologize for my earlier comment. I suggested to make the drops easier to find, without fully knowing the drop rates of current rare items/monsters and such. I actually thought that things like Dark Fang had a higher drop rate that it actually had number wise (like around 5~7%), but Hexzyle's post made me realize that it was nowhere near that high. I'm not so good with statistics and such, so if my post has obscured the validity of this thread in any way, you may disregard it.
