Hey there! Neo here.

So, my computer is fried. It needs love and moma's cooking to be better again. In the mean time, I am looking forward to seeing what new weapons appear from the new years update!

ALSO in the mean time, I would love to hear your guys favorite 'tank' set, tank defined as go anywhere, block anything, laugh at lumbers kind of thing. For me, my last set up of Full Volcanic and an Ironmight Shield was pretty darn sweet. I am thinking now that a Volcanic Demo Helm, a Mercurial Demo Suit, an Irontech Bomb and an Omega Shield would work out just fine.

What about you guys though? Is there any set you like to just sit and defend yourself and your fellow knights with?

Happy New Years,

-Neo

Volcanic Plate/Volcanc Demo set
Heart pendants
Health perk
Obsidian Crusher

An ally can spam voltaic tempest and stagger storm for additional protection. Stand in place, spam vortex, take hits from strongly poisoned enemies. Laugh.

Much fun for gremlin arenas.

This usually works in my favor:

Ironmight Plate Set
Omega Shell/Ironmight Plate Shield/Volcanic Plate Shield
Iron Slug (Yeah, yeah, sue me now).

Easy solution is to shield bump -> shoot once -> shield bump -> shoot once -> shield bump -> shoot once.

An extremely slow process, but in the long run it works. Anything that can get through my peekaboo style of fighting will get blown off by my armor. Especially if they cause stun.

If I'm not using this strategy then spamming Irontech Destroyers will blow things away. The slow fuse also gives my teammates a bit of time to prepare for the blast unless they are too eager to move and decide instead to continue their onslaught.

Just a side note...

Heavys don't actually make great tanks in TF2 y'know. Demomen make much better tanks in my opinion. With the splendid screen, you get all sorts of defence bonuses. And you can also make better pushes with a sticky launcher. The demoman's sticky launcher can also defend your allies better. Not just because you blow them up or something. The knockback from the explosion can be used for that, and I've also found it can substitute for a pyro's airblast in MvM, as with some practice you can use stickies directionally.

Just a note here: Chargin' Targe gives better defensive bonuses.

Good tank

Ancient set or volcanic version from vana tokens for armor and omega shield, with health trinkets, and a haze bomb or shiver to slow damage intake

A shield with status

A shield with status resistances to match the stratum would be much better than omega shield, if you were intending to actually tank hits you would want a variety of shields to match as many combinations of status and monster type as possible.
