I read the wiki on lichen type monsters, and i found something that i had seen only once in the clockworks

I had found a Soul Jelly

when i encountered it, i was in a floor with poison slimes and skeletons. being overly paranoid, i attacked it, thinking to kill it before it could attack me. however, it seemed to take reduced damage, and when i did kill it, the core, which looked more like a skull, did a little spin and fell to the ground before disappearing. it was on odd encounter.

the Soul Jelly is extremely rare, it is small, and takes reduced damage.

post your encounters about soul jellies and/or other wierd/rare monsters. i would love to read about it!

Yeah ikr?!

Nope not trolling. Wish i print-screened but had no chance of doing so (i was on 'kill, kill, kill anything thats moves!' mode). I'm going to check the wiki for reference because i hardly believe it myself.

Only one more...

Last I can think of is Love Puppies. Although these seem less rare than the rest.

Although Rock jellies are also rare (from breaking stone blocks), they have certain spawns in a couple depths.

Soul Jellies
Love Puppies
Impostocubes
Rock Jellies (spawn in Scarlet Fortress)
Mewkats
Sloom/Sloombargo (no longer in-game)
Tortodrones (no longer in-game)

Saw a Mewkat a couple days ago. Fourth one (save for the day the monster spawn rates were broken)

Brutally murdered it and had the rest of the party complain about how they wanted to take a Screenshot.

It felt pretty good.

Mewkats drop ghost auras!

I managed to get one before they OMEGA-nerfed the drop rate.

I thought slooms appeared in a tier 1 gate when they did the arcade revamp? I didn't enter, but saw a vid of some that did.

Impostocubes meet my Obsidian Edge.

Rock Jelly is not considered a rare monsta. You can destroy all the rocks in a rock-abundant level and encounter a Rock Jelly. They don't drop anything special like the other monsters either.

A soul jelly is the rarest of them all.

I believe Mewkitties are rarer. I've seen one or two or three Soul Jellies but never a Mewkitty.

Maybe....

Well, I've seen two or three mewkats but never a soul jelly, opposite of you. o.O
Maybe, a mewkat appeared in front of you and you SLAUGHTERED it. A mewkat does not look much different from a regular kat, except that it is passive, and always keeps a smiley face and is small, and maybe glowing., infact the Konjuring Kat is a Mewkat so technically you saw a mewkat before XD.

Dream once in a while...

I came across a soul jelly too! I was about to take some good pictures with my newly found, rare, friend but it seemed that my team mate did not know what was so special about it.

This is all I got:

  • Picture 1
  • Picture 2
  • Picture 3

My encounters

I've seen a Love Puppy about three times (once in FSC, can't remember the other two locales) and in the case of one it wasn't required to be killed to progress so we used it as a free healing station, and when we beat the level we left it alone to find another party to heal.

Being innocent is a wonderful thing.

Here is a pic of a soul jelly in around my 3-5th ever FSC run

And proof that I was around during the old UI.

And that I was smart enough to not ask to be dropped in the FSC lobby. I simply went down there from the T3 terminal.
