Revive fallen party members with health capsules?

Hello!

As the title suggests, how do you think the ability to revive fallen party members with health capsules would affect gameplay?

Personally, I miss the health-sharing aspect of reviving - it had a more co-operative feel about it than the sparks of life do now, and I'd rather share half my health (that could be replenished later in that level) to get a random stranger up again than spend one of my sparks of life.

However, I agree on the idea that the old system left teams with very little health overall, so I suggest that you could have the option of reviving someone with a health capsule. They would recover with the amount of health equivalent to the capsule.

Any ideas? I know such a change would probably require other tweaks, but there seems to be a severe absence of a sense of teamwork in the current revival system.

I wouldn't mind healing/curing party members but not revving. That idea wouldn't help SK in a good way.

Good point. It was sort-of possible before they removed the ability to drop items, and I'd love them to re-introduce it again.
Curiously, why do you think reviving would be a bad idea? I'd suggest the ability to share emergency revives instead, but I could see that favouring alt-farmers too...

Because then almost no one would use sparks ever because of how many health capsules usually drop on tier 3.

I once opened 6 treasure boxes. 5 were health capsules.

Ahh, good point... perhaps the idea that multiple (3?) capsules would be required to revive someone to the value of health that one would provide. In that case, you would have to choose to either save up your capsules by not healing in case someone goes down, or use them on yourself and sacrifice a non-spark teammate revival.

I know it feels like I'm clutching at straws here, but revives just don't feel as... co-operative anymore...

More like molecules. Really small molecules. Like on a molecular level.

Especially considering the fact that most people see more than a dozen health capsules per Elite run. There was even a suggestion to completely remove them from Treasure Boxes.

Even though you're right about the less-teamwork rev, not sure how this could be implemented, if at all, without completely adjusting pill rates and the like. As you can see from the initial orb drop rate (like 2 per depth before adjusted), OOO isn't very good at that.

To be fair I'm only just getting back into the game after a year & a half absence or so, so forgive me if I'm a little out the loop.

Perhaps there could be a new pill that acts as a small revive - something that drops far more rarely than other items and can revive teammates with <50% health. Though the chances of something being added like this seems slim, I'm just throwing a few ideas out there.

I have considered a drop called vengeful soul where you basically revive with no "blinking" (no spawn invincibility) but as if you hit the last chance 1% health that occurs as Hexzyle has studied. It'd basically be used to kill the monster that killed you.

Well, on what other level can you find molecules?

I agree with sharing capsules with teammates, but not reviving. That's way too much difficulty rebalancing going on. Consider Grinchlin Assault! How much easier would that be if people could be revived with health caps?

We used to be able to share capsules. It was called dropping them on the floor. And then they made it so that pick-ups were player-instanced and so if people were allowed to share then the party could drop their pills from their healthiest members to heal the one closest to death.

If you suggest on making new (revive) pill, then I suggest you to read this thread.

Thanks for the link, hadn't noticed that thread before. Glad to see other people feel the same way in terms of the watered down co-op elements.
