If OOO accepts a (minor) suggestion, does the suggester get rewarded anyhow?

If I ever happen to create an armor or items or something and suggest it on the forums and somehow OOO decides to feature it in the game, do I get rewarded?

Ya know, I wouldn't like to give my precious ideas away for nothing. :P

The reward is the suggester ideas are in the game.

You get access to the items.

Not much else, but you either have a chance of getting the items (promos) or you can simply craft the item (gear), unless it's a token thing from a boss, which you can trade for.

In other words, you probably won't get something special, but you have bragging rights that most people probably won't really care about. But I mean, bragging rights! Who doesn't want those?

Actually, from what I hear if your suggestion is good enough and it greatly benifits the world of SK, the devs will give you a special Artifact to commemorate your support to the game. It doesn't do anything, but it's nice to look at.

No one ever receives that artifact anymore, irregardless of how much you suggested, how much you help out in the Technical Assistance, and even how much you just help to provide well compiled lists of data etc.

"The most rewarding part was

"The most rewarding part was when he gave me my money."

The suggestions forum can be used to find what the community perceives as errors, but it also has a lot of what is effectively fan-fiction. Writing up a name and description of some in game item that you dream up is probably not going to lead to that specific version being included as you, the creator, could try and make a claim on intellectual property grounds. or something.

But if a lot of people start thinking up the same idea, it could be a sign of a missing game element. The poison brandish being an excellent example.

As a note, I was thinking about suggesting a couple of armor/weapon sets (yes, I've myslef tried tl tweak them, calculated and s***) so it is a little more different thing than "hey we wants poison brandish!".

In that example the suggester didn't do anything! Just tap a couple of buttons and posted it to the forums.

Maybe I should suggest some kind of rewarding thingy, like in TF2 ya know. You'll get a weapon with some kinda glittery effect?

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

the suggestions that were implemented "recently" were mist removal and pets, and I don't think anyone has recieved a purple spiral for that.
there is actually the coliseum section added by suggestions, but that's not in game.

I don't think OOO listens to any suggestion, or even respond to it.

As part of our interactive

As part of our interactive approach, Three Rings provides you with certain opportunities to submit your own ideas, text, graphics, plots, characters, feedback and other materials while you participate in the Games, bulletin boards, chat rooms and other activities in the Site or Services (collectively, "Participatory Content"). By submitting any Participatory Content, you represent and warrant that you are the owner of or have the right to post your Participatory Content, and your Participatory Content does not infringe the rights of any third party. You hereby grant Three Rings a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sub-licensable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, distribute, publicly display and perform any and all of your Participatory Content in all media now known or later developed. You, and not Three Rings, are entirely responsible for all of your Participatory Content that you upload, post, email or otherwise transmit via the Site, Services or Games.

Taken from the ToS 7.1 Participatory Content. If you read it well enough, it basically translates to "you can give us ideas for the game but if we use them in any way we won't give you published credit or pay you." Hence "royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, etc..."

@Thunder-The-Bright
Yes, but did the guy who suggested the pets actually make the stats and stuff for the pets/Battle Sprites?

@Sleepy-Hollows
That sucks... They should at least give the creator the armor that is unbindable and has unique Aura... That wouldn't hurt the economy, right?

Exactly the point. Additionally, many ideas people suggest are not even be original, just a herp derp "gameA has it so why doesn't gameB?"

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Actually, a lot of people suggested pets. Before they released their pet artwork and teasers, I created a pet suggestion thread trying to make a balanced pet idea that would also serve as a material sink. However, the similarities end there. No, I don't think I had anything to do with how they made pets, but I don't know if I made any changes to their plans or not. It's really hard to say, so don't you dare label me as someone who can make them do things, because I don't think there is anyone like that.

But I'm going to say right now: OOO does listen to suggestions if enough people follow through with them. Things I can think of are: Poison Brandish, Pets, and Guild Halls. Guild Halls are a strange exception, though; I only saw a few threads on the topic of expanding guild halls, yet, there was a single huge thread which proved popular. (Just so you know, before the Guild Hall Update, guild halls were small, bland, and couldn't be customized.)

my 2 cents

No you don't get anything...

Sprites were suggested 100+ times

Guild Hall update was suggested 100+ times (and still suggested to get a better modification of GH)

I personally requested a white/black promotion and polar hit 4-6 months after... not saying they cave in to me, they probly had it planned for a long time... and I know I ain't the only one who asked for this...

Guild Hall improvements were suggested nowhere near even a third as many times as pets were.

nah.

The (1000000) person (people) that suggested pets didn't get rewarded. Severage didn't get rewarded for making the best guild hall upgrade idea and getting it implemented.
