OK so im a swordie and have noticed that there isnt much content in Sk for gunners. There are usually hordes of monsters that are easier to kill with a sword. The only example i see of better to use a gun situation is gremlin bombers. To me guns are mainly useful for the puzzle which aren't that great either. :/ Need more content T.T
Not enough Gunner content in SK?
Last September (I think? ) Three Rings announced the gunner update, aimed for a November release. They were pushed back to January, so sometime this month we'll be getting more guns and gunner armor!

If only there was an certain gun that fired shots that split up. 2 clip sizes to be exact. Oh well.
If only there was a certain line or two of guns that completely disrupted turrets from firing and pushed monsters about to maul your team across the room for a team charge attack if used well. Oh well.
If only there was a cool looking revolver gun that was incredibly powerful against everything, made you feel unique for using, fired rapid and randomized long ranged shots, could push multiple enemies back an insane distance, and burned anything left to the ground. Oh well.
There just can't be gunner-only content in SK, especially not in clockworks. Everywhere that there's a ranged option, the level designer(s) added throwable items (pots, missiles, etc) for people who don't have guns.
So that leaves us with monsters. Aside from the catalyzer lines (Biohazard/Neutralizer), there isn't a good gun option to deal with 5+ monsters clumped together since well, bullets just don't pierce, with exception to the antigua line's charge shot. The alchemers do well with charges on 2-3 enemies next to each other, or normal shots vs 2+ enemies that are spread out.
Pepperbox ... well, I wish I had an opinion about Volcanic Pepperbox, but it had been 'fixed' to the point that its charge both made sense and lost DPS by the time I even had the thought to make one. Probably a soloist's weapon, just like Slug/Callahan/Valiance :\
seiran, pulsar line can kill things pretty well.
and pepperbox can keep a distance while dealing quite a good amount of normal damage.
Plus I love the Autogun-bullet look of it. And the weird thing is that the Pepperbox is Normal but still balanced in damage. Normal is famous for being underwhelming.

There are eight variations of swords. Brandishes, Caliburs, Cutters, Flourishes, heavy swords, Spurs, Troikas, and Hammers.
As for guns, there are also variations. Antiguas, Autoguns, Blasters, Catalyzers, Alchemers, Magnuses, and Pulsars.
I don't think there's any notable lack of content when comparing guns to swords.
Bombs, now there's some lacking. There are only five kinds. Blast Bombs, Vortexes, Shard Bombs, Haze Bombs, and Spine Cones. Spine Cones are even arguably Blast Bombs. The only difference is that they get knockdown and interruption instead of knockback.

Krakob, you forgot the Dark Retribution. But your point still stands, if anything needs more content, it's bombers.
By 'gunner content', the OP talked about situations where guns would be preferred (puzzles, gremlin bombers). Now, Compounds are surprisingly bomb-friendly (take a Nitronome to a slime compound, you're untouchable! Take a Spine Cone to a beast compound, great!)... so there's content with situations where bombs are preferable... and people hate it. lol.
I do wish that bombs as a weapon were more rewarding/varied in use though :\
