Recently, my friend and I were doing a run through the clockworks and in a wolver den, he hit a few bushes and found a Grand Flourish! (4*). I was wondering what the drop rates were on these, or if this was some kind of glitch. I couldn't find it on the wiki.

I'm somewhat confused
That one room has bushes and green or red treasure boxes in a checkerboard layout. Your friend probably hit a treasure box and thought the item came from the bush.

Some time ago, I found an explosive box inside of a breakable block:

Today, my friend has confirmed that bombs can be contained within bushes as well:

So I thought: maybe there was a treasure box inside of that bush? If the explosive blocks can be overlayed by breakables, then probably other types of boxes can, too.

It's a bug, indeed, but I guess it's related to block placing algorithm rather than to graphics. I mean, this is not an incorrectly textured breakable or something; these are two real boxes that stand on the same tile. When I hit that thing, it both broke and exploded.

a long time ago..about 2 years...i got a calibur, or wolver armor, from farming bushes...i forget which it was cuz ive only ever found 2 things. found it in the 1st depth of a jelly king run, in the room to the right once you go up the 1st steps...the room where you hit the middle block and all the enemies spawn.

Well, I have had a ghost block stuck in a bush before. Since ghost blocks are technically 'special', I would think that treasure boxes would be too.
HOWEVER, the chance of getting a treasure box in a bush and getting a 4* item from that box in particular is lower than...well...the core, to be fair.
