Steam trading cards
I just got my hands on a Love Puppy card and Seraphynx card...
What is the meaning of this?
Please stop this, this isn't even the first time this was sugg-
Oh wait, it's true!
/celebrate They finally listened to my suggestion about trading cards that I made!
No need to thank me, I'm doing this for my ego..
Verified. I wanted a monster card but I'll settle for this one, until I get them all!
I wonder how long before the first badge gets crafted?
What trading cards?
Wait, I mean, what dark ritual?
(Just kidding--knew these were going live, but not exactly when. Hope you like them!)
The funny thing is... I just emailed OOO literally two days ago and asked if there were any plans for Steam Trading cards. What a wonderful way to respond!
These have been in the works for quite a while. I'm really glad they're finally live! GM Prometheus put them together. :)
I like the $100+ difference between the Drakon and Maskeraith.
Ok, what the heck is up with this completely random stuff going on sale for gigantic sums of real life money? It started with Iron Tails and Wings being about 400$+. Now we have these new trading cards. Most are reasonable until you get to Maskeraith which is on sale for 150$.
I gatta get that card. For Shaderon!
Got a mender and a wolver, both of which I dislike shooting.
Hooray.
Yay... I got a Proto Badge! Except... it's a shield. Would've been funnier if the badge was the Proto Badge.
I assume you have to launch your steam account through steam to be eligible?
I think you have to actually pay the game, while on steam to get the cards
Well it does help promote the game. Anyway, there's no reason SK shouldn't have cards if half of the other games on Steam have them.
Collecting each card for a game allows you to craft a badge, earning you experience which can increase your Steam level.
Your steam level allows you to customize your profile, adding backgrounds, and "showcases" which make it easier to show off what things you've accomplished (like achievements). Annnnd also increases the max size of your friends list.
Time to buy another steam card after buying 40+ Tour of Duty tickets from the Steam holiday sale ._.
I guess I should probably run my game a bit more now. Do the card progress things count all purchases made through steam up until this point? If so I should be sitting on the jackpot of cards... Probably like, 10 at the minimum.
I don't think it counts all past purchases seems to be based on owning certain dlcs that are on Steam like the Guardian Pack and Operation Crimson Hammer.
I love u OOO, this addition made my steam dream complete. <3
It would be nice if there weren't 12 cards, and it didn't require 9$ per card.
To get to the full badge, we would need to spend 540$ on SK...
For a lv 1 badge it's 'just' 108$.
Does anyone think this is acceptable?
Edit: Oh, and you need to spend that amount through steam, and it doesn't include your past purchases.
It's like that for all the games for cards.
You can buy them on the Steam market for much cheaper (giving money to Valve and OOO in the process)
or from other players for crowns/energy through steam trade
Or you can get booster packs randomly after a while (see the FAQ)
Also, it does include past purchases.
Pretty much what flowchart said.
Although some people need to seriously calm down on their pricing for certain cards.
GLARES
What is the trigger to have cards delivered?
The prices will probably settle in a while. To me, it appears that has been the case with most games.
I don't get why 12...
TF2 has 9... like a lot of games and I think you should've have 9 rather than 12... I just checked on my library quickly... it ranges from 5 to 9 and then SK... 12... lol...
That game had fifteen trading cards.
There are also profile backgrounds (for use in your Steam profile once you hit level 10) and emoticons for use in Steam chat/forums. You get these once you get all 12 cards and craft the badge.
Woah woahl, question time:
I've bought roughly 50 dollars worth of Crystal Energy (Okay, very loose estimate) on my account over its (3 year) life time. If I merge my account into Steam, would that count towards getting cards?
There has been a big commotion of some people, claiming to bought stuff a long time ago, and they did not receive any card drops. I think I see the issue, that is to say people who originally had bought something on its web account, before merging to its steam account, may not get any card drops. ONLY PURCHASES THAT ARE MADE THROUGH STEAM GET COUNTED. ANY OTHER PURCHASES BY ANY OTHER MEANS DO NOT GET COUNTED AND YOU WILL NOT GET A CARD DROP FROM THEM
THANKS FOR SHOUTING THE OBVIOUS!
I propose the possibility that only past purchases (Steam wallet, obviously) made *in-game* count. That is to say, Crimson Hammer and Guardians Armor purchased from the Steam storefront did not. It would be interesting to know if, from this point on, purchasing those 2 items from the Steam store contribute to the $9 per card drop progression... So who wants to try it out?
I'm curious as to how to get the badges.. is it a Steam Level reward? or you have to pay for that too... btw OOO/Steam as soon as I get my hands on a credit card... you're gonna be SWIMMING in money ;)
You need to collect all the cards and merge them into one badge. Repeating this earns different rewards.. This can be done by buying them off others for $1 and below, playing the game and hope you get one for free or paying $9 and hope you get lucky.
Your call on which option you choose. :x
Umm you were giving that to me.......right.
