Lockdown with an actual team

We all (hopefully) know how to play lockdown by ourselves, but what if we actually did it as a team? Ya know, like different tactics for different opponents, different weapons for different purposes. Like a phalanx. It'd be a lot more efficient. It's not a great idea, but Im wondering if people could help me expand upon it. It'd be nice to have multiple people release magnus charges at once, then swoop in with ss's and finish them off, wouldnt it?

unless you're all in the same

unless you're all in the same room playing together, that kind of coordination would be pretty difficult. even a voice chat server can be hard with everyone talking over each other

Well I've thought of that too XD

Sorry, mind sorta jumbled an hour ago. We could try GvGs. Like just create 2 test guilds, get volunteers to help and test it out. Stuff like that.

you'll never get randoms to

you'll never get randoms to get that in sync with each other to run "plays" so to speak.
GvG its possible, but I feel like the most that goes into teamwork in those is having a bomber or 2 for area denial.

Not necesarily.

Grinto charges are epic for example, so what if you had a half a team charge at a time, then fall back, other half charge, fall back and repeat?
Also Ndog, I wanna join Rogue >:L

Just make friends

Without necessarily adding them to my friends list, I've made quite a few friends in Lockdown (or even got on team/friendly terms with people enough times to be able to do some of these at a smaller, pair level than a complete team effort).

That said, these are things that I've done with randoms or friends in said smaller groups:

- Protective charges: slow, powerful but long-range charges like Troika/Magnus/Hammer are harder to hit when chasing people, but if you know where they will be, you can land them. That said, if you're hiding below/behind a teammate, you can often land these charges by aiming towards your teammate. Notable combinations I've seen with this: Triglav x3, Magnus x2.

- Shard minefield: Salt bombs can cause shock, which removes invincibility frames and lets teammates hit. Shard revenge with two or 3 shard bombers all releasing at different times! Extra bonus for using Nitronome and Vortex to make it even more annoying, plus a recon with heavy swords to knock wannabe gunners into the bombs from the outside.

- Recon bait: Visibility is recon's enemy... and friend. If you're teamed up with other recons, have one recon stay visible while surrounded by other, cloaked recons. When one of them attacks, the other disappears. It's really funny how people just keep chasing what they see, so you can keep knocking them off-center by alternating attacking recons. Any visible character can act as bait though. Guardians are the best, since they can actually take surprise hits in time for the recon to come in and start a counterattack.

- Long live guardians: Two or more guardians can alternate shields and attackers the same way Recon can alternate bait and damagers.

While writing this, I remembered something terrible I ran into once:
- Turtle: 1-2 shields, 1+ haze bomber (can be one of the guards or a recon), 1+ gunslinger (can be any class), and 1+ striker(s). The shields + haze bomb are a base, the gunslinger can throw status or prevent other gunslingers from harassing the shields, and the strikers do their thing and can heal at the shields. Bombs discourage swords and encourage enemies to use guns, enemy guns break shields much slower but can get bullied by strikers, and the team gets to heal at shields.

^ugh, that was a nightmare to play against. The cleanest way to break it would be to throw a hazewalker into the bomber (breaks shield and disrupts bomb placement), then throw shock/freeze at the guardians to keep them from interfering, but you'd have to do all this all the while having to deal with the strikers protecting them.

1: Look at pro-level tournaments for 6v6 games (mostly FPS, like CoD, Counter-Strike or Halo) and see the teamwork they use. That's the kind of stuff you'd be talking about, not grand perfect synchronization and "plays".

2: @SoH: Go watch those tournaments I just mentioned and see if they at any point switch to player audio, I know MLG for one does. That stuff is complete chaos to me but they players understand it fine.

3: omg yes I want someone to do this and kick everyone's *** in GvG and completely revolutionalize the metagame and hopefully not just lose to pulsar walls.
