First they almost triple energy costs while negating the point of having a network of friends (4, 5 star binding), now they add the completely vapid e-peen measuring BS known as "Achievements".

I guess Three Rings is spelled A C T I V I S I O N now.

I want my money back.

If you're going to let

If you're going to let something like achievements being added to a game ruin your experience, I'm a little sad for you.

No, we are letting the fact that the Devs don't seems to give crap about the community get to us.

The only bad thing about the achievements right now is how uninspired they are. Craft 1 item, Craft 5 items, Craft 10 items.. zzzz

Personally I use these

Personally I use these achievements as a way to know the players habits, what they do and what they don't.

Yay for posting in a troll thread again, I wish there was an achievement for that! ;D

Eh

I personally am against achievements.
They make players think the game has more content or replayability, when nothing is actually added to the game.
Whatever achievements provide, already existed in the form of arbitrary challenges you could set for yourself.
Not that I would quit over them, that would be silly, they don't harm anyone (well people with ocd maybe)

Obviously, 3R can't please

Obviously, 3R can't please everyone. Especially the people who will rage over every little thing that's added to the game that they don't care about just because their personal pet peeves about the game aren't being pandered to.

A lot of people like achievements. Deal with it.

Two thoughts:

1) it would be nice if achievements that I already have completed and in theory obviously still possible to work out from my characters data were unlocked (all the item ones and tier clearances for example (arguably JK and vanduke based on the non transferable tokens, though those aren't hard to get anyway))

2) it would be nice if there were some visual way to see the achievements other players have, like a particle orbiting their character for each achievement unlocked (maybe t0o graphic intensive) or a colored rings of light forming a pool of light on the floor around their character (walking in the light of achievement - har har) obviously would want to make that have toggle.

bonus thought) Maybe there is some way to already do this but I haven't found it if there is - how can I see all the posts by threerings staff? It would make finding out if issues have already been addressed way easier.

I don't mean to derail the OP, but for those with questions/suggestions regarding this implementation of achievements, I'd just like to interject that today's release notes do say that the devs plan on doing more with them. This is just the initial rollout. :)

I would definitely feel more

I would definitely feel more inclined to complete achievements that offer rewards, especially unique/difficult achievements that give special items.

Ex achievement hunter- gamer score of around 58000

My only gripe is that a lot

My only gripe is that a lot of the things listed I have already done, and since (in my humble opinion) there is no reason to create another character, to do so to get the so called "first time" achievements, is not something I favor. Other than that, I see no issue with achievements, and they do not affect my gameplay much aside from giving me little objectives if I feel like I need some guiding.

Rewards

I wish OOO will include rewards by earning achievements. For example 100CE or materials etc. This would make the system more interresting for everyone.
