Thanks a bunch for all you have done for the game and for all of us!!!!
Best to you in your future endeavors!!
Bye Nick. Glorp? :'(
One day, there was
A jelly cube with
Funny intentions.
The funny jelly cube
Loved its mustache,
Its toupee, its pipe.
He then decided to
Start a game, an
Illusion.
He wanted to make robots
Secretly controlling
Their own kind.
Time after time,
The jelly's intentions
Were lost.
It did not enjoy
Creating tricks anymore.
It took off its toupee,
Its pipe, and its mustache,
And said,
"Goodbye, robots. Keep
Controlling yourselves"
And the jelly explored
The unknown future ahead.
Goodbye Nick, you will be missed. - Utrex
Nick you created a game with so much potential, it was my first mmo and I'm yet to see one like it. This is by far still my favorite game and in the 3 year I have play spiral knight enjoyed, laughed, and had lots of fun with every up date. You will be missed.
We'll miss your jellied form around our wonderful Cradle. Thank you for your work on the game, Nick.
You may have uninstalled the game, but you CAN'T uninstall it from your mind and heart.
you can't leave....what about the Core?!
but if you must go, then the Iron Dragon Guild salutes you Nick. you brought forth a wonderfully rendered great game, thank you. keep up with zbrush sculpting and keep making cool games, and don't let the world take away or change your visions or cheapen your inspirations.
- regards, Jumpy
This IS a fun game. A lot of us complain about everything, but in the end, there is no other game I have logged more time on, period. I have played Half-life (and mods), Half-life 2, UT2004, Need for Speed series', 1nsane, monkey island series, Starcraft, Starcraft 2, Worms series, Dungeon Defenders, Portal series, Plants vs. zombies, Left 4 dead 2, Grand theft auto vice city, countless racing games, Borderlands, Borderlands 2... and on and on. Normally around the 500 hour mark the game has been played to death... so why is it that Spiral Knights is showing 1053 hours in my steam account? Because it's a really fun game.
I've known you were up to something for a while. See: Nick....
Sorry for all the trouble I have thrown your way, Nick. Sometimes it's hard to keep quiet and wait for fixes. By the way, where is your favorite place to find Elite orbs of alchemy? I don't mind buying them, and I do, but it's exciting to find them too!
I hope to see you in game sometime... though I have no idea what you call your alt(s) .
Cheers!
Nick, it saddens me SO much that you have to leave. But I will ALWAYS play this game in your honor. You have made my very favorite game I have ever played, and I thank you VERY much. I hope you might visit from time to time, and once your next project is done, I'll come to it, and support that one too. Have a good day and good luck on your endeavors.
I'm gonna miss you SO much! This is my first MMO to play, and my favorite! It was my third videogame to like, and I fell in love with everything about it. Nick good luck on your next project, and when it is made, i'll play it happilly.
Well, now we have to find someone else to blame for every catastrophe.
While I am mostly a forum lurker here these days, I'd like to take the time and say that I'm glad to hear that Nick is departing the SK team on good terms. I mean that with all my heartfelt warmth to him, because it's clear Nick had done what he set out to do; to create a love letter to some of his most beloved games. And now that the roots of his game taken have been given a solid enough foundation - to know that it rests in trusted hands as he describes - it's completely understandable for him to now go seek new horizons. He know's SK will go on without him, whether through thick or thin, and more over, that he's left his mark in gaming, however big or small.
As for me, I deeply thank Nick for bringing to light an MMO that has such a unique setting and art style to it, an intriguing story, witty flavor texts and more, and, most of all, a wonderful social environment. I don't play many MMO's myself (just 3 right now, including SK), but I've made more friends than I can count. It's just been a lot easier for me to get to know people on this game, especially during my first few, unsure days. And it's been a pleasure to watch how this game has changed and evolved in leaps and bounds, and I'll continue to do so as you do, Nick.
The best of luck to you!
PS: I will miss your announcement Shenanigans.
Always waiting for Nick comments: The bombers have been buffed. This will never happen. I'm disappointed.
Whenever a company or organization like a mega-church or someting gets founded and built by a talented, visionary leader, when that individual leaves, 99% of the time the company or organization goes steeply downhill.
Why would the person who built a wonderful company and envisioned and largely designed a wonderful game for that company leave?
Was it just for greater intellectual challenges or monetary rewards elsewhere? Or was there something about the current business environment in Three Rings as a subsidiary of Sega that drove him away?
I'm normally a pretty optimistic person who can find a silver lining in most situations, but this one looks pretty bleak.
Well, I'll try to end on a positive note. There are very few people in the world that I'd rather sit down and have a nice long chat with over tea and cookies than Nick. Thank you so much for all the hours of enjoyment you've given to so many people. I hope your name will surface again in a few years in association with a another great game or product that we all can enjoy.
Luv ~ ♥ , Mawashimono ۞ The Dragon Princess ۞
I wonder what will happen now.
I look forward to your future endeavors elsewhere and wish you the best of luck.
I guess I'll type your name into google daily to see if you came up with something. Good luck, and may your journey through the countless worlds be ever fruitful.
/salute

it was always fun trying to catch a glimpse of you or one of the other GM's so good luck
Good luck from all the guys at Tectonic (guild)!
........(>Q_Q)>.....Nick !?!?
Well, we had a good run, you made some bad descisions and some good descisions in the past few years, hope these mistakes become the lesson you need in your journey to make the next game.
This world is cruel and ppl like you, the ones who tried to be unique are always punished and laughed at by the coporate bullies. You need a strong heart to stand up to those people and don't submitt to those ppl.
For now, hope you can make another game that is as good as SK, and if you did, I will certainly play it.
Farewell Nick, We will indeed miss you and all you have done to make a game worth playing for the many years it's been out.
sorry to see you go like this, Keep us posted on what you come up with next!! I want to try it out! :)
Goodbye and Good luck

There once was a gelatinous cube.
He created a great game, with no jujubes.
But alas, he must go
And is mourned, oh very so
And we never knew if Nick liked pickelhaubes.
is this what he meant by having water planned for us ;m;

Good luck with all future endeavors. You will forever remain in my heart :3
Ascend now, fellow knight, to new worlds beyond imagination and wonder.
Goodbye Nick.

Changes
- Behind the scenes changes
- Nick has left the Spiral Knights team
Bugfixes
- Fixed a security issue with the web launcher
- New arcade gates will no longer have levels that can never be reached
So what happens now?
I'll get the target dummies... there's nothing better than shooting to vent out feels.
So is Cronus the next-in-command?
What games do you think Nick will do? Will he go straight up Hipster-Indie and create a one-man game in his room or start a new company???
Cuz you know what the Gaming Community needs right? more First Person Shooters!
@Hellscreams Gege D: /hug I'm still here to bother you c:
Congrats Nick for for filling your childhood dream with this game :)
It was nice havin' ya around~
Thank you so much for all the fun and great times and friends I've met from this game.
Have a good one~
I'm pretty sure none of us saw this coming, reading everyone's replies and such. Nick, you will be missed, you Jelly you. Farewell, from Impulse Guild.
Thank you for the part you played in making Spiral Knights a reality that all of us knights have come to love.
You've given us more than just a game. You've given us memories and friends. Moments and people that we
will remember long after we depart from this game.
I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and hope that you leave knowing the work you've done
here will continue to bring joy to knights for days to come.

Thank you for everything you've done. Especially the Rescue Camp. Especially the Rescue Camp. :) You will be mist.
Farewell, best of luck on your new enterprise.
Question...
In the game, can we scheduled a good-bye party?
Also, I cannot make any guarantees, but if I can get a fangame into the air (Man, I feel like the WORLD doesn't want me to do that...every single hour I spend working on it I always encounter another issue. Right now my engine is having issues switching between free to paid and I cannot get any stable executables...), I will remember to give a special Impostocube an honorable mention...
No, no no! This can't be happening! Nick can't leave because he is a physical part of Spiral Knights. He is like the really cool uncle who jokes around and plays pranks on you. Who can replace him? I'm sure one of the OOO team will step up and I hope you do a darn good job. Be funny, be sporadic, just be a cool person we can relate to. This is just mind shattering to see him leave. I demand we have some form of statue of him in haven. To simply remind us, he launched us into our mission to explore cradle, protect haven, and befriend our fellow knights.
Nick, thanks for the game, but you will be missed by all who've crashed down on the world you helped to create.
Best of luck
Well, Nick, seems it's been quite a ride for you. Gettin' your childhood dream and everything, that's quite something. Must you continue to chase and fulfil your dreams for as long as you live.
Safe travels.
This is actually the first time that I'm scared for the future of Spiral Knights.
Anyway, Nick, you have my thanks for all you've done for this game and its community. Good luck on your way. May the fire of your creativity shine for a longest time.
Despite my current (very) low level of activity, I agree with Mawa. One does not stop being a dev on their company without good reason. Something is up.
Heron salutes Nick.
A personal thank you goes to the lead developer of an amazing game.
As a player since day one of release, you gave me and many of the players in this fantasy world a very special and unique experience.
I am quite certain players that are now new to the game feels the same.
Keep us inform on your next project and good luck to where you may go.
... for the new friends and for my last two years with adventures.
Good luck!

Bye Nick, and best of luck with where you're headed to next!
I still remember fondly, asking you for help with making gear on the testing server, and then finding you at the AH adding stuff for us to buy to solve our equipment issues... only to find all of the knights in the area dressing up as, and lining up beside you. :D
Happy trails.
So sad to hear you go Nick it's been a pleasure to b playing your game - the best one in the whole world.
On behalf of the Hitchhikers we will like to say Farewell but this is not a goodbye and good luck in your future endeavors.
Spiral Knights has been a game I truly from my heart loved and always will, I'm sure things will improve in the game once your gone but it'll never be the same. We will always remember you Nick and what you have done to the game, we'll miss you and always come back and check if we're behaving!
Farewell and Best of Wishes
