Nick made the game(sort of) so does this mean that in a year or two it will end like http://www.doctorwhowit.com this? For one of the main people to leave his own game... this just shows that the idea for spiral knights is dead. OOO or Sega or who ever is the big guy pulling all the strings is just using this game to make some quick profit. He clearly said that he him self resigned from his position. Does it also mean that the arcade change and gunner update will come before February 24th? What about the answer to question #10? What about future updates?

WE AT LEAST DESERVE A FINAL Q/A FROM NICK. Or is this really hopeless and spiral knights as a game is finally over.

I thought we were done talking about death.

Or is that the "in" thing now?

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

if "who ever is the big guy pulling all the strings is just using this game to make some quick profit" probably the all the devs would refuse to work, and Nick would be the most reluctant to go away. since he's fine with that (or well, he didn't say anything on the other side) the game will keep going. besides, as Nick said, the gave devs and GMs are a team of knights working for a purpouse, Nick or no Nick. I have actually considedered the fact that they may not even need a lead game designer since they all know how the game goes perfectly.
I just hope they don't get too influenced by the fact that Nick has gone. "what would Nick do right now?" is a wrong question, especially in game designing.

Death you say?

What better place then than Graveyard? No point discussing, it'll only feed the negativity and paranoia the forums already have and nothing really concrete can come from that (all this is personal conjecture - meaning no use whatsoever).

With nick gone the last thing we need is more talk about the this kind of things. It'll scare shallow players even more. My advice? Play the game, last i checked it is still up and running.

P.s. - just try and enjoy what SK has to offer while it lasts... that way you get to experience what SK is really about - fun. :3

@Thunder-The-Bright The game is an old idea that was made and published to public. The guy who had that idea and who made it leaves. Will his idea carry on? Even more the reason why he needs to do one last Q/A with the game's community.

@Launcel Why not? This forums could use a bit more paranoia considering the usual rage about the lack of content with or with out op gear and energy price.

ps. Playing with my alt, doing a few T1 runs. What more enjoyable than that there is in this game after spending a good 2k hours in it? (on and off since the beta)

@Aplauses That actually could make sense.

The game will go on

Steve Jobs was fired from Apple, rehired, then died, and Apple still carries on.

Nick leaving Spiral Knights is his choice, and from the looks of it, Three Rings was never some stressful hierarchy. Nick was the visionary, and was a great one at that. But the entire team made the game and balanced it the way they have. Instead of crying over the loss of a developer, smile. The entire rest of the team is still here. Our game is still here. Heck, Nick is still here, you just need to contact him in a different way.

Mourn if you need to, but keep your chin up - good things will still happen.

I know it will.but now long?

Are you seriously comparing apple a billion dollar worth company over a game that barely has 2k players at a given time with a community that constantly wines about updates?

Tell me did you even read your own words? By far that seems like an excelent place to be and people to work with and for and yet the main person who made the game and with the over all idea for it... leaves. I hope they will. I hope better days for this game is coming. Because every thing so far seems like a huge mess.

dafunk, read Nick's final post please. he says clear that the team formed slowly with the game. it means that the spirit of the game will remain the same. since this game is, in fact, Nick's game (again, in his posts he states that realizes a childhood dream) I don't think the game will fade away when the leader is gone, because the ideas of the leader will carry on.

Nick leaving may turn out to be an improvement for the overall game as well. Whoever takes charge may be more interested in talking with the community and fixing game issues. With the "visionary" gone, OOO has two sources to turn to for suggestions, ideas, fixes, etc: another person/group on the team, or the SK community. Hopefully this brings about a new, excited, energized leader ready for the task at hand.
