As the title says, does anyone know what the difference is between getting a gold or silver 'completion' icon on the Missions tab? Is gold awarded for doing a mission without dying once? For completing it solo? Doing it on Elite?

The badges

Explanation for Mission Badges:

Gold Shield with two swords- Mission completed on elite.

Silver Shield with one sword- Mission completed on advanced.

Bronze Shield- Mission completed on normal.

Copper is awarded for completing the mission on Normal difficulty, Silver for completing it on Advanced (or having completed the mission before the update that introduced difficulties), Gold on Elite.

Quick and concise. Guess I

Quick and concise. Guess I have some missions to re-complete (and time to rage at the ones you can never do again that were completed before Elite came about). Thanks!

I wonder if they'll let you change it to elite completion if you put in a support ticket..

:Query:

If you have a noob friend who is playing one of the unrepeatable missions for the first (and only) time and is playing on elite, can he/she invite me as a pre-elite player, and have me get elite credit for missions? If so, then it should be entirely possible for vets to get all gold, we just have to be creative.

P.S. Sorry if this is a necro, but this has been a legitimate question of mine for some time.

If I remember right, it just uses the difficulty from when you 'last' completed the mission... I think? So if you join your friend from the mission lobby, I think you should be able to update it so you can be 1337.

If I did remember it correctly, then it's probably just an aesthetic thing since you can 'rank down' by completing a mission on a lower difficulty.

When you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.

@Seiran:
As far as I can tell, it does the highest completed difficulty, not simply the last, and missions completed before the existence of difficulties default to Advanced.

agree with Seiran

The badge shows the most recent completed difficulty, I think. I've done each mission on Normal, Advanced, and Elite. Almost all of my missions are marked Elite, but a couple are marked Advanced, and I suspect that I did those most recently on Advanced.

So just redo the mission on Elite difficulty, and you will get Elite credit.

I heard somewhere that someone changed the files in the game files so that the Normal, Advanced, and Elite images all were duplicates of Elite.

I'm pretty sure the badges represent the highest completed level and not the most recent. Ones that are marked Advanced can be because advanced was the default old difficulty, and the default if you haven't done that mission since the difficulty slider was released.

definitely wrong

As I explain in post #8 above, that idea is definitely wrong.

@Moose-Margarine: It doesn't work with Crossing the Chasm. A new character can invite others to the lobby but it won't change their completed credit.

it works for those but those are repeatable (except the lab one, you can repeat it but not finish it)
