So what do these do? What are their properties?
I am tempted by this starter pack b/c the mist tanks, slots, and these items makes it a good deal (obviously, and that is the point of it) but the real deal maker / breaker I think is gonna come to these...
Are these items worth spending cash for? Or will I be better suited to keep on my demo and gunslinger suits?
Sypsy, I don't quite agree that the heat amplifier is worth nothing just because some people on the forums don't like it. I can definitely see a use in it for leveling multiple 4 and 5 star items--but you're right, a new player might not be able to take full advantage of it right away.
The 1* items are bragging rights, they cannot be crafted or traded. For a new player, the bomb and shield are good--hanging on to them for PvP might be a good idea...
While I agree there is value, I was too lazy to go back and include it in the consideration. It's also harder to value.
If anything, I was taking a jab at those people who were completely raging on it. They yammer it's worth nothing, but I'm sure if they were to put it in AH, it'd be worth something to them as a seller. (I forget the study on this.)
Either way, I don't think it'd make or break the deal, and the starter pack is still a good deal, even if you had no use for the heater.
Does anyone know what the stats of the bomb & shield are? I haven't seen anything yet.
The 7,500 is what you're buying for the $20. The rest is supposed to be gravy.
But if you insist on valuing the rest:
The items are 1* and worth nothing in the long run.
Not sure what the artifact is.... I'm going to assume it's worth nothing as well.
The 5 mist tanks = 500 energy
2 of each upgrade slots = 800 energy
Assuming you have a use for it all, that's an extra 1,300.
So you will have bought 8.8K of energy for $20 (or 441.1 energy per $1) which is a better "value" than the 20K CE for $50 (or 400.4 energy per $1.)
Are the items still a deal breaker/maker?
EDIT: I completely forgot about the heater amplifier (which sells for 800CE)
But given the majority of people's reaction to it, let's value it at 0 CE since you wouldn't have a "use" for it since everyone values it as nothing. =)
If you were going to use it, I would recommend using it when you have more gear and intend to make a lot of runs in two days at a lower tier.
It would be wasteful for someone just starting out since early equipment is relatively quick to heat up.
