I am not happy about this delay, but I am at the same time happy that we're not getting some half-(redacted) Update. We're getting an AWEsome Update! And I know some of you will still complain about their promise and what not, but think about it, Do you guys want an "ok" update or a "GREAT,One of the best Additions to the game we love" Update? Nick just left, and I think it would honor him to not rage about this.
Im really happy that they are doing their best to give the best experience for me, for you, and for the whole spiral knights community.

To The Whole Spiral Knights Team,

I salute you, keep up the good work, and Dont listen to these ungrateful-(redacted) that will be popping up here on the forums.

(even though i know you guys wont take it personally ^_^)

Thanks for all the Fun. May the energy be with you. TM ^_^ - Hrpb

Would have been better to just say no ETA of when it will come

When developers try to give an ETA of when an update or a feature comes out, it increases the pressure on the team to push out that feature or update at the deadline and ups the anticipation and hope of players, but if they fail at bringing the feature to the table, it makes the devs feel bad they couldnt get to their goal/deadline and the players are left questioning about what happened and are annoyed/sad and feel that they feel entitled for some reason to get that feature by whatever date the developers stated.

I think the better approach for OOO to have taken at the very start was to say they were developing it and that the update would be in the near future (something like what Riot Games Devs says, Soon™) and try to communicate with us more on the forums about what is happening. Small updates like on Jan 15th and Jan 22nd that just say "more behind the scene changes" could at least be more detailed, like if its related to future release content, they could just say that changes are being made for future features or something.

I just wished that members of OOO would talk more to the community or else we get left in the dark..

@Hrpb

I'm not really complaining about how they grew up as a team and gotten bigger and such, just the approach they took with it. When you set deadlines and dont reach them, its typically makes the devs upset that they could not accomplish their goal but also players that feel entitled feel mad/annoyed/etc.

It would have been better if they stated the ETA as "Near Future" at the start instead of November then January to "Near Future", Could have avoided the backlash and built up anticipation by using a gray area deadline like "Near Future" at the start of the preview of the Gunner Update.

As soon as I saw the Tortodrone and new explosive blocks in that image, my mind exploded from the awesomeness.

I think I can wait.

Externally, I look like normal. Internally...

So apparently those Vortexes affect players, as a peep is with the Tortodrone. Ouch. I guess a person could troll with those on his own party. Note to self: Do not fight the Tortodrone with Friends or Guild Mates ever then. Gotta avoid those shock spikes; wait, how does he even make those...

And so on.

So... No guns but instead we get Tortodones?

When I found out about this my brain ripped in half with one side screaming in rage while the other one screams with joy.

I'm not expecting OOO to become weekly updaters any time soon. But if everything can get out at some point of time, it's fine by me. (Though I'm still paranoid about them releasing another wolver update. That thought is still locked in my mind.)

Oh yeah, does anyone else get a strange feeling like OOO trolled us and the update is actually coming out in one more day? Unlikely but another thing I have on my mind now.

Actually I believe that they'll continue this "Behind the scenes changes" thing for a few weeks, and in one of these patches, they will ninja-patch guns in. Or radiants. Or Tortodrones.

my 2 cents

I just dunno why they give an ETA... when they don't work with deadlines and they prefer to work at their pace...

I don't really care since I don't play the game... And I bet the Tortodrone will be part of a new missions or a new depth layout that will make people whine even more than Candlestick.

I just find it funny that you tease us with "What's going on in September" and then Gunner Update and then Tortodrone when we never could use or bash any of that content. We know what the future of SK "should" look like...

Why not give the opportunity to people who paid the game to go into the preview test to smash some tortodrone with you? With the new Riftlocker, Arcana, Phantamos, Wild Fire, Permafroster, Winter Grave, Grim Repeater and Gilded Griffin to test out... Even if the AI isn't ready, just make us bash brainless Tortodrone and we'll be super happy. Plus you could use some feedback on the guns before they go live... no?

Actually..

It'd be better if they delayed it for a very long time, so we can skip the Bugfix patches and tons of complaining of people.

Who cares about the gunner

Who cares about the gunner update? I've got 16 pieces of 5* gear that I can't heat.
GIVE ME RADIANTS.
