When i want to move from one haven to another, i have to click on a button that says "Enter Instance". I can make no sense of this.

In this case, "Instance" is really a fancy name for "Server".

Instance

Definition: A segment of gameplay in MMORPGs in which players form a group together and enter a special area in the game world, usually through some type of portal. They are then essentially cut off from the rest of the gamers in that only people who are in the group when the group passes through the portal will be able to enter the dungeon with them. Other groups may enter the dungeon, but will not encounter the first group, hence they are in a different INSTANCE of the same dungeon. The use of instances allows players to avoid the risk of kill-stealing or spawn-camping by other players. Loot and monster level inside an instance is usually higher than anywhere else in the game world, and there are usually specific systems in place to ensure the fair distribution of loot among party members.
Usage: My guild just did a new instance for the first time and I won some pretty awesome loot

Thank you.

So a party is an "instance" but moving from one Haven to another is not, by that definition, right?

Unless the "dungeon" in this case is all of the Havens put together, and then each numbered haven is one "instance". (Still don't understand why they chose that word.)

Well do you know of any other words that work? I can't think of any. If you try to use "Haven" instead of "instance", it's false; you're already in Haven (in this situation). It's not really a new "world" and saying something like "alternate dimension" would be wordy.

"Instance" is the most readily correct term to use, no reason to try to find another word.

Server could also work.

No, the Server is the machine that runs the program. Multiple instances can be handled by a single server.
