'Kay great, now I got the Left 4 Dead safe-room themesong in my head. And now want to see a shotgun or spread-shot weapon in Spiral Knights... Well, maybe that'd be overpowered. (It sure as heck was overpowered in PSO.)

Every pickup will be either a Fire Vial or a Health Capsule
Everyone will be assigned a sword and a gun.
Handguns have limited ammo, ammunition is scattered everywhere
Zombies move faster
Oh, and this really has me wishing for a sniper rifle style weapon.

Despite that we have heard repeatedly that the devs won't let a strata exist where all depths are the same type, I think this would be both fun and entertaining, and would like to see it allowed. I don't know what, if any, justification there is for keeping us from having a "pure" gate.
Pure gates would allow certain less popular gear choices to become significantly more useful (the Skelly line of armor/helm/shield for Undead gates, for example).

Make it similar to a power surge weekend: Zombie Surge Weekend! I like the limited ammo idea, but it needs more... explosives. Maybe a way to hot-switch items mid-level, so you could pick up a fiery vaporizer for the rest of the level if your gun runs out of bullets.
Also: Friendly Fire on.

This would make excellent material for Halloween or other events (celebrating the release of another zombie apocalypse movie? can never have enough of those.) I just hope if they did do this for an event, they'd make an extra gate for it and run it week long.. I can never make it online to play games on holidays :3

I'd like this, especially because I've been grinding tier 3 Kat levels for ghost bells and philoso feathers. (None at all have dropped yet x_x)
Unfortunately, two of the strata have changed, one of the stratums is now Construct, and more urgently, stratum 5 is now Shock. Let's fix this~
