I hate to say it, but...

For the first time in my life... I actually dread going on SK. A few reasons (including my forum-wide infamy) of personal matters have kept me away from SK for about a month, and I'm too tied up with TF2 in hopes of reaping a gold weapon.

I would elaborate but as I said, personal. And no, all of the cliched reasons (lack of content, too boring) aren't even close to being listed here.

As a result, I guess I'll stay off SK for a while until this weight is lifted.

Don't worry. I'll still lurk the forums.

EDIT: Please die, forum node.

I don't Price Check no more. I ask for Price Checks

Sorry but I just have to say it. This isn't necessarily directed towards you.

What is this ridiculous obsession with everyone who wants to leave making a thread stating they want to leave or are going to leave? Seriously who cares? If you disappear for a few months I think people will get the idea. Just go. You'll be back again, everyone comes back, so all this attention is for nothing. When someone like Nick makes an announcement that they are leaving that is understandable, or when someone who has literally 'made' the Spiral Knight Wiki and announce they are leaving that is understandable. Their efforts will be commended and they deserve something like this. What have any of you done to deserve a sending off? Some people seriously need to grow up. Spiral Knights isn't your life.

You mentioned you have personal reasons for leaving. Sort them out with friends and family back home. They are the best support and recognition you will ever get.

Unless you want the attention.

It's about leaving a mark. People want other people to know what they think about them, and telling people you are leaving meant attracting attention so they can get commented.

Like a resignation letter, then you want to know what the boss thinks of you so you can be a better person in the next area.

I'm not going to be on much until later today.

I myself have not been on Spiral Knights very often either. For about the past week I've been logged off. I recently got Terraria and I have become the biggest addict to it next to HERO. I must keep playing... I can never stop, if I do the Destroyer may come back and eat my Arms Dealer and I need to get revenge on it with my Shadow Beam Staff for it trolling me 4 times before I could finally kill it.

But I may get a bunch of energy later today and start collecting some of those Warden items. That should make me happy with Spiral Knights and I'll start playing at the same rate as usual.

Ok, good bye for now hello.

"When someone like Nick makes an announcement that they are leaving "

But that was an announcement and can't be replied to by us.

"Unless you want the attention"
That's probably why Xtweeterx posted this thread. People who saw posts by Xtweeterx should know this all too well.

Have fun with your TF2 stuff!

Well, for people who are active in-game, it's pretty much like a last way to kind of notify their friends of a disappearance/hiatus. So yes, it's a way of pulling attention, but it's not malicious in any sense.

IDK if it's all that effective, cause something really similar happened to me in 2011 - while everything was going well in-game (BN was the hot thing, I figured I could make 200k/day by being really awesome and selling certain items), situations irl made me suddenly ragequit the game and I didn't play again til 2012, when that calmed down.
In my case, it was a little different; I had some friends IRL who played SK and knew about it, so I went ahead and sent off my cr and cr-worthy items to them.

Aside from that, I don't think it really matters much to the people in-game though.
I just disappeared and that was that.
