So, for no apparent reason the game crashed during a Vanaduke Shadow Lair and it would NOT let me reconnect. I relaunched the game COUNTLESS times but it would not reconnect me. It would say "Logging in" but then the game would stop responding.

My friends are still in the run and are currently in the last part (right before sanctuary)

connection problem

if you dc then try to log in again when connection up but when log in your connection gone again... your sk client will stop responding and nothing you can do to fix it other than open new client but will make you back to ready room.

The game would stop responding when trying to log back in could possibly mean some sort of data reading error, as also represented by the crash. Try reinstalling the game to help fix any issues.

This is the EXACT same

This is the EXACT same problem I just had. From my experience it will not let me back in until we are kicked from the server.

I reinstalled the game, nothing changed AT ALL. I complained about this sort of thing MONTHS ago!

game have nothing to do with all of these problem, it's all back to your connection.
first after you disconnect.. make sure your connection is stable before trying to reconnect again (try open website or something) and when you try to log on, wait for while... don't be in a hurry (keep press press press or don't wait till it connect), there you go~

The connection is stable. It

The connection is stable. It normalised after doing a cleanup. The problem for me is not so much the disconnection, but the fact that the game will crash when I attempt to log back on. And if I don't hurry, I can't rejoin the level I was in. Heck, I was able to open the SK forums, log in via steam and post the above WHILE the problem was persisting, so it wasn't a connection error.

nup' i still think it was connection problem and maybe data load when you attempt to try to log on might cause sk stop responding, i experienced this before and my sk client become white blur (happen when i'm in laggy map or lot of enemy), sometime it will back responding if you wait and sometime give message sk has stop responding~ and sometime after dc and try to log on... nothing happen (this happen when you try to log on but dc again when you press log in button) if you experience this, don't keep press log on or it will bring your character back to ready room.

It is probably long past your run, but the next time you have Shadow Lair connection issues (and need to get back into the run in realtime) you should file a Support Request instead of a forum post--a GM will assist you and most likely be able to warp you into the party. You can have your friends file the support request for you.

GMs respond to report tickets within minutes compared to forum posts.

Me too!

I have exactly the same problem. Floerail is wrong: It really isn't a general issue with internet connectivity. It's specific to the Spiral Knights game server, and ONLY to my account that crashes upon login.

What happens is, there's some unrelated glitch on my computer such that if I alt-tab away from Spiral Knights, there is a good chance that the game will simply crash/shut-down. I used to be able to just log in again when that happened, and it would put me right back into my interrupted dive.

But now, when I reopen the game client and attempt to log on, I get the same thing you experienced: The game client will freeze/become unresponsive with the message "Logging on..." showing. Closing the task from Task Manager and rebooting the client doesn't help. Rebooting my computer doesn't help. At this point, I will not be able to successfully log in until after my session has totally timed out, which is to say, logging on too late to reconnect me to the clockworks dive I was in the middle of.

Just for an experiment, I tried logging on as guest during this time. I got the whole game intro and the character creation screen, no problem. Having thus confirmed that connecting to the game server was possible (assuming that the client does indeed connect to the game server during Log On As Guest), I logged off the guest account and tried to log on as myself. But once again, it froze up during "Logging on..."

I wonder if the game server itself is locking us out of our accounts at this point, as though it's unable to resolve the attempt to connect twice in its usual manner? ANd that's why it won't let me connect again until my previous session has entirely timed out?
