As in, the user is mysteriously over powered when using the hood, not that the user has a mysterious defense that is capable of withstanding normal attacks.

The "mystery" is referring to the Knight's face being hidden by the Cowl.
It's mentioned in the general description for the Hood.

so what exactly does a 'meancing grimace' look like? ...did they perhaps mean 'menacing'? i dunno....but i've reported it several times and it appears it is spelled the way it should be, as it hasn't been fixed...either in-game or on the wiki....for over a year and a half.
the only mystery i find in the modern age.....is spelling.
