hey had my DA for about 2 years and it still hasn't been fixed, is this a frickin thing or do 3 rings just keep forgetting about it? seriously this weapon is so under rated because of that..
DA wall charge bug ETA on fix?
> How often do you even charge with your back to the wall?
Often enough to be annoyed or killed by it. Remember, it's with like half of weapons with huge projectile on charge - Blasters, Magnus, AP/Senteza etc
Thought the "glitch" is there to stop players from having their back to a corner and charge spam, so they won't get surrounded, and be able to knock the incoming enemies back. I could be wrong.
I won't argue that it doesn't happen on a lot of weapons, cause like you said, it does. But they did actually fix a similar bug with a much more common situation: In Lockdown, the capture points used to trigger those same issues (ex: DA's projectile or shard bomb explosions would get caught by the capture points). People could (and would often) run over those areas, making it a much more noticeable issue.
This?
Maybe it's an issue for you guys for some reason, but I almost never play along the walls. As far as I'm concerned, you have to be really trying to pull this off on yourself.
Little consequence (inescapable rooms? nah), easy to avoid... has all the markings of a low priority issue.

@Bluencool:
I don't think it's intended; The projectiles spawn behind the player, get caught in the block behind the player, then get destroyed. They could probably try something like casting a ray outward and try to start the projectile from there (within a reasonable distance from the player's position), but idk if it's even worth the time to do it when there are more pressing things to fix.
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...
A long time ago the DA did not have the wall bug, it seemed to acquire it when they tweaked the charge attack - it could glitch trigger some ghost blocks in FSC and I believe the 3 blades were spaced wider apart. Cause or effect?
Broken physics is a broken game. Seriously, projectiles exploding inside the player? This commercial software product is developed by professionals right? Or is it? God help us if we ever get self harming splash damage weapons like rocket launchers - oh wait, we do in a sense - Faust.
Notice that while most of the Antigua line has the wall bug too, the Obsidian Carbine does not: Clearly they are aware of the bug, they know why it happens and they know how to fix it - but for what ever reason the fix STILL hasn't been rolled out anywhere else on that weapon line.
Are we going to have to wait days, weeks, months or even, as we have been doing, years for bug fixes? Are these bugs even acknowledged as being real or are we just making fools of ourselves by assuming that fixes will ever be on the development road map? So the much lauded Gunner update will eventually show up someday, it's anyone's guess if any physics fixes in the new guns will also be applied to the old ones.
This glitch was made because before you could use the DA to hit unaccessible phantom blocks. Have you forgot about D27 opening with DA? I certainly haven't...
That's the sole reason why the DA is bugged... Also they put the 3 swords closer so you wouldn't hit THAT phantom block again.
OOO have better things to do then fixing a broken mechanic (because AP does this too, blaster, driver and so on...). You should know this by now... They have arts to do and reskin to put colours on! -_-
And I'm dead serious about the art stuff
@Exerpa :
It's a sideeffect of the fix for that bug, yes. So they fixed an order-breaking bug (people would break the order in FSC and devilite stages, allowing them to do things like full heal or avoid certain rooms) and introduced a minor bug. It happens. But the only bugs that are quickly fixed after being introduced in an update are major bugs.
@Obsidian Carbine:
I'm pretty sure it's a matter of changing the spawn positions and behavior of the projectiles. The obsidian carbine isn't a direct copy-and-paste; It's a new weapon and while placing the poison arms, they did it right so it wouldn't run into that bug. Whether it was on purpose to avoid the bug or just luck from tweaking the poison arms to look just right, it managed to be placed just right so the poison arms wouldn't spawn inside the walls.
Like most of you, I don't think the existing weapons will be significantly effort-taking to fix, but they're also the kind of fixes better timed for, you know, when they're not working on huge game-changing updates in the meantime .
@Shamnarock and people who think like him:

so tired of explaining this.
¬_¬ yes, it's fine to get annoyed at how long the updates are taking and the silence around them (seriously, it blows my mind that people care more about guns that they'll never use than a huge change to the arcade that can finally let it coexist with the mission system), but at least pick something more significant and realistic to gripe about.
Momo's Fun Facts: Obsidian Carbine charge shot tentacle projectile is not affected by the back-to-the-wall issue. Sentenza/AP will still have the bird explode behind you.
"the Obsidian Carbine does not: Clearly they are aware of the bug"
The Obsidian Carbine charge is more like a sword charge than an Antigua charge, even the hitboxes are completely different compared to the Sentenza/Argent Peacemaker.
Then don't charge by a wall.
It is a bug and should be fixed, if they don't roll out updates id at least appreciate bug fixes. this is really annoying bug actually as most of the fsc rooms are close quaters, and maybe 3-4 times per fsc run it happens.
I would like to interject and correct the notion that the wall-dissipation is a result of the charge attack-tweaking patch. It has been an inherent anomaly of the attack, as the 5* antigua guns and the like have.
@Seiran and I've replied to that arguement countless of time.
Making content doesn't take more time nor is harder to do. The software that OOO uses are simple and can be taught to anybody with enough effort from the learner.
Loadout and Path of Exile are both F2P games that put OOO team to shame. They make actual content regularly and stay in touch with the community. The sheer fact that we know the guns names and dmg type tells me that all there is left is animation and balance. Which can be done in a matter of a single day for each weapon. And if they can't then I'm sorry, they will (and already HAVE) lose popularity to other games...
Actual content... you know the Arcade, challenge PvE mode and the new T3 boss they talked about 5-6 months ago? Where are they? No ETA? nothing about it? And we get a picture of a Tortodrone as apology to the Gunner update being delayed 3 times? What's the relevance?
It's just laughable how OOO treat the community after being part of EoR and GGG community -_-
I used to love this game and now I hate it because of how OOO doesn't give a **** about us. And also SD Flash Sales.
sounds like a reason to stop being so reliant on charge attacks to me but hey maybe my translator's wrong
i mean i did have to go get a thesaurus for espeonage's response - where they could've just said "%*@!'s been broke for a while" so who knows what's to be gotten from this thread
Has Three Rings ever declared unambiguously that this is a bug? I haven't seen so. Perhaps it is simply the intended behavior of DA charges.
@ Bopp
>It's not a bug, it's a feature.
No.
Makes sense
1. The devs are usually open with us, so they'll definitely say something about this 'bug' if it really is a bug..
2. If statement 1 is somehow erroneous, a bug fix will definitely come 'when it is ready'..
Well from my observations the developers are not really open to discussions about their game. They will talk about whatever they feel they want to talk about. As far as game studios running on the F2P model go OOO aren't any worse than others. There ARE game studios that will interact people regularly but when it comes to issues like bug fixes such as this one all they can really tell us is "we are working to address the problem".
Shamanalah mentioned PoE, a game with a great dev team and a lead developer that talks to people and answers questions and personally hosts update videos showing what's in the works. The main problem with PoE ( and it's a crippling one) is character desync and even though they've been working on fixing it for years it's still a big cause of rage-quits and account deletions. The devs have given up answering questions on the issue because frankly all they can say about it is "we're working on it".
My opinion on the wall charge bug is yes it is a bug because we can tell what causes it and it doesn't look like it was an intentional design choice.
Q1a: What would be a handy attack to use when your backs up against the wall?
A: DA charge
Q1b: What charge attack doesn't work when your backs up against the wall?
A: DA charge
How often do you even charge with your back to the wall?
It's not gamebreaking.
And no, the weapon is "under rated"; The same with pretty much all the other weapons, the brandish lines have just been that much of a better option since the patch that removed the randomness of their explosions.
