Heloooo world!
How are the peoples of the internet today?

So I've been working on a concept for this fine game involving some randomly generated decision making:
The player will be presented with three pieces of gear and must pick one for their load out. This would happen multiple times.
EDIT: See Klipik's post #2 for further clarification.
(If you play Blizzard's Hearthstone Arena, you may be familiar with this concept, as it has its roots in the Arena.)

So I'm looking for a second opinion because I'm not sure…
Do you think it would be better that the pool of items presented to the player include all the items from the game or only items in the player's inventory?

On the one hand, all the items in the game would make for a longer, more interesting draft (30 choices~ish)... but I'm afraid it may end up being, "oh look two items I don't own and one that I do... I guess I'm picking that one."
On the other hand, having only gear from the player's inventory makes for a shorter draft (10 choices~ish)--any longer and the player may have opportunity to just get everything he wants.

So what do you think?
And thanks for your time.

Have a good one!

Lat explained it to me some so I have a bit of an idea

Think of it like this: You want to play this random draft mode instead of picking and choosing your gear as you normally would for a mission or PvP. In this random draft mode, the game would select three pieces of the same type of gear (ex. Vog Cub Cap, Crown of the Fallen, or Ironmight Plate helm) and you would have to pick one of them. This would continue for each gear slot in your loadout, and when you're done you would play the mission/PvP battle through with what you chose.

Now the question is: should the game select that choice of 3 only from the items in your inventory, or from all items in the game?

It remember me of Hearthstone. Appear to be a good idea.
If it envolves all gear of the game, I think it needs a fee.
But if not, It don't needs a fee.

Going off of what Klipik

Going off of what Klipik said, it seems like a good idea do to for Lockdown. Have each match have a few loadout options (choosing from all applicable gear in game). Each person gets to decide which one they want. Each match has different options. Maybe even have two or three options per category of Guardian, Striker, and Recon. That or just like 5 or 6 options overall. Could have them show up in your loadouts during the game so that you could change out in the locker room.

Special UVs too?

I like the idea, as it means probably an end to the black kat infestation, but what about UVs? I can see them being off by default for sure, but what if certain gear had positive (and maybe negative) unique variants for balance sake? Maybe we could add some stun vulnerability to the wolver choices, and in turn make them more resistant to their respective element? Maybe add CTR on a brandish in exchange for slower attack speed? This might be a suggestion for another thread, but it might be neat!

If I understand what is meant

If I understand what is meant by this, I don't see how it would work in PvE or how it would improve the experience.

I do however see how it could work in PvP as it would make all players more equal in relation to loadouts and only skill (not to mention lag) would effect the outcome of the match. I do suspect that many seasoned PvP players won't be overly happy with it after their many hours making massively buffed gear.
